Well looking at Pinball Rollercoaster I see that a) it's from 2008 and b) from a publisher that I've never heard of. If the publisher went belly up, there's your reason for not being able to download it again. Let's hear it for digital media! And the fact that app is so old, there's no telling...
Yeah, but Jay was stating certain tables he paid for just up and disappeared. I wanted to know if it was different than just what was lost between FX2 and 3.
That sucks that so many pinball machines were out of order.
When I visited Quarter World in Portland Oregon, the thing that impressed me most was the tech walking around and checking out every single machine. She'd put in a quarter, play a bit, then open the coin door and check lights and...
Yeah, the 3 rows of lettering leaves too much unwanted negative space. I would like to see a two row alpha numeric display say 'digital pinball', ala Funhouse and other system 11 games, and then a second font could be used for 'fans'. Placement of 'fans' could have all sorts of experimentation...
Yeah, I started thinking that while doing some sketches of my own!
Speaking of sketches...
I messed around a bit on paper and then downloaded Inkscape since I don't have Adobe Illustrator on my new computer yet. Inkscape is a free to use vector graphics program. I figure if I'm going to open...
A graphic image that conveys a sense of the site with the full name to the side also could work. Look at the Pepsi ball, the Coca-Cola bottle. There are many approaches that can be taken and all it takes is a sketch to try things out.
I'm going to say some things and I only mean them in constructive ways.
1. The name of the site is Digital Pinball Fans. Our URL has the dot com in it. Although I find the pinball as the dot clever, dot com should not be part of the logo at all. Would you put www. with it? Of course not. And...
Wow, we had probably the closest tourney ever this past week on American Dad! Check out the top 3 scores...
1. shutyertrap 149.6 million
2. xaviermac 149.14 million
3. Stuzz 149.13 million
4. CRY5TALIZATI0N 98 million
5. OnlyGrapeApe 85 million
Now I know we've played it before, but you...
So maybe message and ask him yourself why the post was edited. To the best of my knowledge nobody asked him to pull info or anything. And I'm all for people enjoying things while they can, I just question the wisdom of planting a big giant red flag to draw attention that might get that very...
That editing of the post was not done at our request. As for talking about it in the podcast, I was aware of that post and discovery. However, that is the type of thing that could easily disappear in the future as it was not supposed to be an option. Rather than shine a spotlight on it, I figure...
Well this is my point entirely for wiping the boards annually! Because as the tables exist today, they are still not perfect, still could use some finessing. You can't just eliminate the top scores, you have to eliminate all scores by everyone that were achieved under those same conditions...
FX2 wasn't in the list since it is no longer for sale in Steam, only the VR version. That's a bummer too, as I'd really like to know how much that affects the download numbers in comparison to TPA.
You're new to the forum (welcome) so it's understandable that you are not familiar with discussions that were exactly like this 4 years ago. So let me break it down.
When I say exploit, I don't mean in a cheaters sense. Also, this was before Steam version even existed and was happening on the...
I'll tell you right now, Tarek's scores are legit. He's gone into detail before about exactly how long it took him and how he exploited certain aspects of the table. He's also a perfect example though of getting scores on old tunes of tables before certain exploits were eliminated. That's why...
I'm not opposed to this. Put them in a separate menu and make the current year part of the 'my score/friends score/weekly score rotation. This would also give an idea of how many are playing a table currently.
