Yep, it OPENS on Wednesday and closes late Friday night.
But I'm glad you guys are eager!
Also, if you follow on Twitter @BlahCade you'll get all the notices of when tourney is open, links, and also TotW selections. Essentially what you can find here, just quicker.
The BlahCade returns with its 16th podcast, Drunken Farmer!
Those of you that are fans of Sean going deep into a table are going to love his dissertation on The Addams Family. Jared talks a little about his TPA user guide for Android, while SYT gives a rundown on the Feb TotM and its winners...
Clout? Dude, I'm totally spit balling! Last time I personally talked with anyone from FarSight was the interview before the TAF kickstarter, and I haven't been up to the studio in probably a year and a half. In other words, I know squat.
Which means threads like this are fun for me again, as...
Now that I've put some time into it today...
WTF is up with the right outlane? I mean, people complained about CV's but not this? When the ball shoots out the mine to the right, if you don't have your flipper up it seems to bounce around and then go out the right lane 9 times out of 10. That...
Other than Halloween, when has FarSight ever bothered to release a table to coincide with something else? I agree with the guess of StarGate.
But Getaway is next. :)
This is one of those tables I've barely touched and really know nothing about. You might even say it's because of tables like this that I started this whole TotW to begin with, because it forces me to play what I normally ignore. Should be an interesting week.
Hope you have your life jacket on, because Table of the Week number 9 is White Water.
This is the start of our next 4 table cycle. Regardless of whether FarSight releases Cyclone this week or not, we will press on. Otherwise it screws up our tournament schedule!
Speaking of, don't forget to...
The above video is indeed from the house of one of the guys that is in my pinball league. He hosts for us once a year in the summer, and it's a can't miss event. I have not seen Zingy Bingy in person though, as that particular league night also hosts a kids event, so I'm sure it's hidden away...
Actually? No.
Consoles of the 80's, your ColecoVisions and NES, were trying to copy arcade games. Not until games started ditching the 3 lives approach and started going with saves and continues were they a threat to actual arcades. I mean, can you imagine playing Call of Duty, Uncharted, or...
Getting multiball on Centaur, and I mean multi.
That actually stems from when I played it in VP. The author PacDude had his own custom ROM, where when you started multiball, any MP3 of your choice started playing. Well I picked 'Burly Brawl' by Juno Reactor from the Matrix Reloaded. I think...
Having deja vu with these questions...they are very similar to what we all wanted to know from FarSight when we first got to talk with them. Be curious to see how different the answers might be.
Why? You are placed in a different grouping for each of the four tables. Chances are, you might very well play against each other on one or more tables. Or you might not. Depends on the randomizer!
While in theory this is true, in the virtual world of TPA it isn't. Each table is tuned to the way it currently plays. That means collision detection parameters, how easily a ball travels to certain areas, things like that. You cannot change outlane post distances, size of the rubbers on posts...
