I finally got this goal the other night. All I cared about was hitting 1-6 targets. If the ball went anywhere else, I waited to catch it so I could should for one of those. I found the left side, 1-3 to be easier and safer to hit. What I mean by that is, when going for 4 or 5 on the right...
You are not only limited to 3 in RBION. My bigger issue with the table though is how predictable the bounces are. Off the top of my head I can't remember the sequence anymore, but I showed a friend a 5 bounce combo off sling shots and such that had the same result 9/10 times. And there are a...
I picked:
TZ (because c'mon, it's supposed to be a ball buster)
Creature (all the extra balls and a too easy ramp)
Scared Stiff (it just completely lacks challenge and is an endurance contest)
TAF (deserves a proper tournament mode and to be every bit as tough as TZ should be)
RBION (too...
This was FS experimenting with a 'fake' version of DX11 and knocking it out of the park. They've gone a bit more subtle since, or so it seems to me. I wouldn't go so far as to say FS didn't make S1 & 2 'correctly', but they absolutely should revisit the tables and apply this lighting to them.
Well, just spent a solid 90 minutes with this table. I needed all the wizards, only have the 250K ramp to earn. It's so hard! Those 1-6 targets are deadly, and then to not accidentally shoot the ramp while building up the bonus, brutal. I've gotten to 200K twice only to either drain the ball or...
$250 is a good price even if it were an EM. That being said, a table like that isn't going to ever command a high price. Find out what the playfield looks like, make sure there are no broken parts you are going to have to replace, because it's gonna be tough with an old Stern. The owner telling...
For week 8, the table of choice is High Speed. About time we got something from season 3! Commence with the groaning and moaning below, or the clapping and high fives. The randomizer cares not.
Also, for those keeping score, this finalizes what the four tables will be for the next TotM...
I'm not sure how FarSight will feel about you modding their game...but I'm sure all the cab users will bow down and thank you! It's so odd to see the whole room in your first two pics. Never gotten a clear look before. Did you figure out a way to display the backglass on a 2nd monitor? And what...
Amazing when you can see a score jump like that. Then of course you run into what happened to me the other night...I know all these tricks, I've used them plenty, but for some reason I could not advance past regular jackpot no matter what. I was in multiball so many times as to be ridiculous...
DX 11 is of top priority right now. It should be coming this month too, but we'll see. After that, I believe tournament and difficulty setting are being worked on. They said this is a labor intense process, that they will start with 8 tables and then build from there. New physics = new engine...
The gal on the right look exactly like the Kristin Wiig character on SNL for the Lawrence Welk skits, where she has the tiny doll hands and big ol' forehead.
For the average player, no. For some of our pinball savants? It's like giving them an extra quarter each time. Normal tournament rules have EBs turned off anyways.
They have the tables, believe me. They also have plenty of high res photos. The issue is having art department go back and redo them. Witness them not even wanting to fix BONUS on Genie (there's a good story to how it did get fixed, but I can't tell it). Let's just say the art department is not...
Learn the backhand off the right flipper to snack bar shot, and learn it well. I'm talking spending a few games where any time you have the ball caught on that flipper, you shoot for nothing else. Once you have that in your back pocket, get comfortable shooting the 'move your car' gap that leads...
Played 2 games last night. Wizards were already done, so just playing to play. First game, abysmal. I don't even think I hit 100 million. Basically a game of shaking off the cobwebs. 2nd game was more to what I'm used to, as I got up to 3+ billion while plunging extra balls. I did play the...
Had they known they'd still be making the game 4 years in? I'm sure they would have. At the time though they were only guaranteed the license with WMS for x amount of tables. I think it was a case of "let's get in what we can in case we don't get to do more". And I'm with you...I'm glad we got...
Because FarSight isn't some start up game studio. They have been around for 20+ years, and should be able to finish a project like cab support, as promised, without asking for handouts. Throwing money at them is not going to speed up the project.
