Oh Frank, you haven't dived into the Zacc tables yet? You definitely should. Total EM awesomeness, and at 20 bucks for 29 tables and counting, a bargain.
I'm using an Xbox controller as well. What I've noticed with the PC version of the app is that if the ball is moving, the plunge is often weak. That includes when the ball moves side to side in the trough right after you pull back the plunger. Best thing to do is pull back the analog stick...
Even though I do enjoy this table while I'm playing it, I tend to not go back to it. I think I figured out why. Every, and I mean EVERY time the ball drains, it feels cheap.
Sucks for us too. Being an owner of a Tempest machine, it's easily my favorite Atari title ever. Even though I will never own a Vita, I was hoping that TxK would eventually find its way to other platforms. Guess not.
Ah. Ok. It's a shame the P2K series didn't get beyond two machines. I'm especially impressed that your friend has the 2 unproduced prototypes. Talk about holy grails.
I'm more concerned with keeping my table collection. Goals and scores are the last thing I care about losing. They're also fun to reattain if I have to.
Both Bahnzo and SYT are correct. One thing led to another and with the combined forces, took out the golden age of arcades. And when the arcades went away, so did a major market for pinball manufacturers to sell to, thus, only Stern surviving the fallout. I wish good luck to Jersey Jack...
You have a pincab? Careful. I heard that if you stand a specific way, you could be violating a "licensed view." Well that's what I heard. I read that on the internets.
If anything, go with PC for content stability. Meaning, when consoles are done with their 5 to 10 year lifespan, you either keep your aging obsolete console and hope FarSight will continue supporting it, or you get the new console and buy the tables all over again.
Or go with PC and Steam...
