    The middle is darker because the GI and flashers are around the edges.

    I can see the ball fine. Maybe turn the brightness up a bit to suit.

    I was playing with similar specs (AMD Phenom II x6 1055T and AMD Radeon 5850) and it ran just fine. Maybe the extra bit on juice on the GPU made the difference, but it was buttery smooth with all settings cranked in the config.

    Yep. I would pick this era not because of specific titles, but because Pinball itself was the king up until then and hasn't been since. It truly was the end of the golden age of pinball, and it's been forced to play 2nd fiddle to video games ever since.
