First off, hurray!
Next, you don't want a 32". That's not a tv, that's a computer monitor! Seriously though, 40" minimum. I'm not sure what it converts to in Canada bucks, but I went to bestbuy.com, entered 40" and above, followed by under $500 and 57 TVs popped up. Stick with Sony, Samsung...
I personally love this. I see that box pop up, and I go into panicked focus mode. Losing the 3rd ball when you are only a few points away from a friend's score is maddening. Totally makes the game that much more fun. This as opposed to then having to log into the leaderboard and see if you've...
I used to play it a lot in VP, never seen it out in the wild. It is kinda an amalgamation of other pin layouts, not really bringing anything unique to the table, but I do like it a lot. I am curious about what the cost of this license would be. The table wasn't released in conjunction with any...
Considering the PC beta is essentially the 360 version, I fall into the camp of PS3 looking better. Except for Taxi and BK. The HDR bloom is just too much for me, as well as the heavier pink tones.
FarSight already switches the color of the menagerie ball automatically to match the color of the neon. On the PS3 it changes everytime you load the table up new.
I simply think there is a real opportunity here for level of realism. PS4 isn't being ported down to PS3, it's being it's own beast. Therefore the only restrictions in terms of what FS can do are the restrictions within the PS4 itself. This isn't TPA being put out during the iPad 2 and having to...
I think what I notice most is the GI lights missing on the FS version under the left ramp, the menagerie ball having no reflections, and the chrome not picking up as many highlights as it should.
You mean like this?
I tried to scale the FS version to match the same size as the real image. Obviously they are at a slightly different angle, and I cropped the FS image to show as much as the one SKILL_SHOT posted.
So boys and girls (do we have any of those here?), can you point out the...
That is a perfect example of a table in a dimly lit, not totally blacked out room. You can see the colors, yet the lights are the show. The chrome is what really looks amazing here, as well as how the GI lights cast a different glow than inserts. Inserts are NOT lighting the play field, and...
Yep, I want this.
We've been asking for this since before Pro Mode was implemented too. I'd kinda forgotten all about it as there was zero traction of it actually happening. This, the light slider, online mode, I file these all under the "things FarSight would like to do", which roughly...
It's like on first look, you get excited. And then you see the same WTF? lighting mistakes that plague so many tables. I'm glad it's not just me, coming from a camera background, that is seeing this. I can almost forgive the spotlight in the middle, but that pink in the corner left is just so...
Call it a general tone across many aspects of TPA that has become the norm in these forums. It's not limited to TAF, but TAF is certainly the poster child for it. So yes, I am making a broad general statement, a stereotype if you will. I see a lot of "I'd rather they did Simpsons or Indy than...
I love how people have been absolutely begging for TAF since day 1, pleading and crossing fingers, and then at the first sign it might actually have some forward traction, there's this wave of "oh I was really hoping for something else".
As a parent, who hears this kind of pleading from his...
Also those in control of all things Williams have no interest in letting FarSight put out a game that was only considered a prototype. I believe the way I heard it was, "there's a reason we never let it go beyond prototype".
As far as I know, Josh has actually helped in at least trying to line up what licenses are required for a table like TAF. Cold water is what he dumps on doing a table like Pinball Circus or any other prototype.
It's obnoxious, right? And there is zero light fade, it's either on or off, which makes it jarring. Fingers crossed the PS3 version pulls this particular table off better, as it is my fave.
Absolutely, and Taxi actually has a proper taxi yellow about it. Then you look at the red flashers on Whirlwind, and gahhh! May as well put text in 'em that says 'BAM!' and 'OOF', as they look like overlays ala Batman.
