They keep the tables because as they improve physics or gameplay, revisiting the real thing is important for comparisons sake. Those are assets that continue to be used. I'm sure with the next gen consoles and PC right around the corner, they'll need to consult once more with the tables.
This...
No, the license cost is paid for by the Kickstarter. However, with each premium table sold, a percentage of that goes towards residuals of the license holders. Therefore, it makes sense to charge $5 for one table, as essentially half is going to be paid out, leaving the other half for FarSight...
And that's what I'm saying. There has to be way more than 30,000 people on mobiles alone that have downloaded this game. FarSight needs to target them as they are the largest user base. It's the whole 'feed a kid for a month on 1 dollar a day' deal. Quick, somebody call Sally Struthers!
Cameron could sneeze the entire fund for this campaign without so much as blinking. And yes, it's worth a shot. Tweet Robert Patrick, he's on the table too. I know the comic Jim Jeffries, who stars in that show 'Legit', he's a huge pinball nut and would be worth a tweet. I don't do Twitter...
I just emailed the guys at Penny Arcade, pointing them to the kickstarter to see if maybe they could do a shout out on their site. They've done it many a time, and the blog they have up today even talks about kickstarters. Just figured with their readership being what it is, the mere mention of...
Mark's comment makes me wonder...has there been a sequel that you think is worse than the original? While I do prefer High Speed over The Getaway, it's only by the slightest of margins. I don't care for Hurricane near as much as I like Cyclone, but it's better than Comet to be sure. Thoughts?
Unfortunately I think it'd set a bad precedent if the kickstarter failed and FarSight said, ah we'll make it anyway. The same way people are expecting some whale to come in and drop a big donation now, they'd think a failed kickstarter could be greenlit too.
Now then, a suggestion?
It's less...
Tech wasn't as good compared to what? Today's tables? Does it have more call outs than Gorgar or Firepower? How 'bout Funhouse?
BoP is probably regarded as the most shallow of rule sets, yet it is still beloved. I personally find Creature to be rather shallow in that if you are strictly going...
Or there are those of us like me who have signed up for the newsletter but for some reason it stopped being sent to me and despite many requests, hasn't been sent since.
Doesn't work that way. T3 is a completely different table and requires a completely different license. More to the point, T3 is owned by a studio that is bankrupt, and if you've noticed the little issue FS has been having with their own publisher filing bankruptcy, you can imagine trying to...
Except it's not the lights on the table itself you'd be adjusting, but the light in the room. Pro Pinball, with their tech demo, showed exactly what everyone is wanting. You could have the lights full up in a room, you could have them turned off completely. The lights on the table never changed...
The PS4 comes with an HDMI cable because that will be the only way it can connect. There is no support for composite or component video output. That means people like me, who's HD set was before HDMI, won't get to play a PS4. Yes, I'm aware of the converter boxes, but I'm also aware that...
