Oh man, what would the cost of shipping that to the states be?! Scary.
I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for this kind of option though. I can't think of anything more intimidating for a complete noob to this than transferring over the entire wire harness, but it'd sure as hell be educational!
It's not a faulty connector...it's just the wrong soundboard! It should be 2 boards joined together, the smaller of the two has the speech roms. My board is from an earlier system 6 machine possibly, with the Firepower sound chip put on.
Thanks for the link though. Good to know that if I don't...
I think I can safely say it was no show. Dude's phone was ringin', some for CL listings, others family members checking how he's doing. He was a rollercoaster of emotion. How he 'got' me was by rushing me to either sh!t or get off the pot. He wouldn't let me take off the glass, I never even...
Okay, so lemme be clear about this first...I own a pinball machine, something I didn't think would happen for years and years.
Now, onto the moaning and groaning (so that you guys can make me feel better)!
I've been taking long, slow looks up close at various aspects of the machine. It truly...
Avatar as a theme for a pinball machine just makes little sense to me. You have an idea about inhabiting beings, about being one with nature, ultimately about being connected to the world that surrounds you. So how does pinball tie into that? To me it's a head scratcher right along side CSI and...
Hey, can you take a pic of the left inlane/outlane support post? I think my metal lane might have busted at the tip, which is why I have a post with rubber on it. Trying to determine exactly what the screw/sleeve is supposed to look like. The list of little chotchkys I need keeps growing...
It's a crime, isn't it? Only place in LA I've found is Pins And Needles, just south of Hollywood off Alvarado I think. There's nothing in the OC unfortunately, which is where I live. I've mapped out a round trip of 6 places I'm gonna check out in a week or two, for a total of 19 unique...
I'd trade this thing so fast for an NBA Fastbreak! That has everything I want in a pin...ramps, modes, fun multi player, combo shots and aimed shots. Anyways...
My bank account won't let me rush this :)
I'm trying to prioritize what needs to get done, like cleaning the playfield and waxing it...
So Mayuh, what you're essentially saying is buy the flipper kit! I don't need to replace the coil, just everything attached to it. Something like this...
That's the one for Williams System 6 games. $21, at pinballlife.com
pbresource.com has one with a few extra parts (looks little different...
Few more pics, these all relating to what to do to the playfield. First, check this out...
You can see someone tried touching up the paint by hand. It's clumpy and not smooth to the touch. I can flake it away with my fingernail, but it's exposed wood underneath. Should I sand it down or leave...
Few more pics and such.
First off, in response to my flipper coils, they are 19-400-30-750-DC. I don't see any corrosion on them as though (someone pointed that out). I also have no idea what EOS is, or plunger linkage, so definitions please! I do wonder, my flipper bats, they don't come...
Yep, you're right...my sound board is way different! I don't have any extra slots on mine either for the speech chips. Might need a whole new board if I want some vocals on mine.
I've been wondering this myself, but have yet to find anything. I'm guessing that back then, the graphics were silk screened right onto the table? This brings up some questions though...
#1 Can I go ahead and strip the field, clean the table good, and then wax as normal, with the intention of...
I need tools. Don't have any kind of meter to read amperage. Don't have soldering iron, nor have I ever used one (uh oh). I took a look at the schematics a bit ago, and my eyes just kinda glazed over! I saw a pic of someone else's sound board and though, mine looks NOTHING like that one! Guess I...
So. Much. Info!
I love it. I went ahead and used some foamy spray into a paper towel and wiped down the playfield. This allowed me to see where wax buildup is and isn't. A lot of the insert lenses seem to be scratched. Would the stuff you use to remove clouding on headlights be used for those...
