It would be nice if the game tracked lifetime replay awards (getting the replay score and end-of-game matches). Would be an achievable leader board for the less-skilled (but more determined) players, and perhaps there could be awards for total replays. Unlock a special ball at 200 replays for...
That's a pretty easy one: extra balls. Real tables don't give an extra ball for a replay score (which on a real table reflexes higher every time it's awarded), and real tables don't give extra balls for specials. Plus, it's expensive on a real table to abandon and restart every game that starts...
First off, let me say that far and away this is my favourite table on PA right now. Now that the camera bug is fixed, it's a ton of fun, and it feels just like a real table. The fact that the ball launch varies which D-I-G lane it lands on is a great touch. Great job on the implementation, PA...
The outlanes on this game are tough, but they are fair. You need to be very selective of your shots to avoid likely outlane or SDTM drains:
- Don't shoot for Drac during single-ball Drac Attack. Ever. Make sure you can start a multiball mode in conjunction with it. Drac is a drain-monster.
-...
Phantom Flip can be pretty useful. If it's lit on the inlane, the game will pick the "best" shot to make and take the shot automatically. It can be a pretty good shot too; I've seen it combo the left and right ramps consecutively. The only time you really want to avoid it is when Frankenstein...
I noticed this as well. Used to be a safe trap every time, now it's much harder to trap the ball out of the scoop. Makes the game a bit harder, so it's a welcome change.
But it's such a small detail, and MM plays perfectly fine as it is now. I'd much rather Farsight spent their time fixing real bugs or working on new tables.
I've seen several complaints (mostly from the same couple of people, over and over again) about there being a "bug" in MM that the flippers are too far apart.
There's no bug. Even if the gap between the flippers in PA is wider than in the MM flyer, remember that photos from flyers are taken...
I too had this issue on my first game (iPad3, portrait mode). But I switched the options to Multiball Camera: On (I usually have it off) with my usual locked Camera 2, and haven't seen the issue since. Played a few very long (1B+) games too.
I've experienced the camera zooming on Frank during multiball as well (on a new iPad). Speculating here, but seems to occur whenever the Frank toy reverts to standing position during multiball.
No, that's not it: on iOS there's now a launch button on the screen while playing intended to activate the Troll Bombs. It's just not much use when the Bombs get consumed automatically.
I'd love to see Banzai Run. It's Pat Lawlor's first game, and it has a really unusual design: the ball can be carried up into the backglass, and there are flippers and a playfield up there as well. Given the way CV works, it seems like this would be possible with the PA engine. It's a fun and...
This is a general problem with the PA engine. The first time you play a table, and every time you quit back to the table screen to start a new game, the pinball engine reverts to a fixed state and "random" events will follow a fixed path. (Although I guess that fixed state varies by platform; on...
How does the PA engine detect events in the game? Can you tell directly from bits in the ROM itself when (for example) a million-point Trapdoor Bonus is scored? Or do you treat the ROM as a black-box and detect events on the DMD/display? In general, wondering how much reverse-engineering of the...
