Yeah the others (Timeshock Ultra, FX2) just size the DMD to whatever dimensions you give it. If you make it ridiculous looking, well, that's on you the user ;)
That said, I don't think 1:2 is that distorted in practice.
I think the DMD display is a function of whatever small PC monitor size...
After messing around with the camera mod for a long while, I decided I actually preferred the default (and, yes, sometimes moving even when locked) portrait TPA camera for a variety of reasons.
So I basically use FreeCamera as a simple backglass switcher, and it's fine. But I kept wondering...
That's great, not-boredom is my goal!
I hope Farsight can put together a HD texture pack for seasons 1 and 2 because there are some amazing tables in those seasons that just look "meh" compared to later releases.
Excellent multiple monitor (aka pincab) support as well with the rebooted Ultra table.
The developer has gone super quiet, as in .. dead.. quiet .. so I am not sure if we'll see any future Pro Pinball tables get the Ultra treatment, I was really looking forward to Big Race USA so I hope my...
Oh no, so the source files are locked at that original lower resolution :(
This means they'd need to disassemble the pinballs again (I'm assuming they re-assemble them after digitization?) to get higher resolution textures.
Oh I apologize looks like there is an topic for this:
http://digitalpinballfans.com/showthread.php/11353-Graphical-Updates-For-Season-1-amp-2-Tables
No response though :( And I found the actual texture sizes:
Still, would love to hear directly from Farsight about when / if we can get updated...
Someone here remarked that starting with Season 3, Farsight used much higher resolution textures for the tables -- I don't recall the exact numbers / sizes, but if anyone knows, can they share that info here?
My playfield is a 27" 1440p monitor and the difference between the newer tables...
My objection isn't Gottlieb or whatever, it's that I've never heard of these tables. Bone Busters was also a cheap knock-off of GhostBusters, which gives it a kind of .. hinky feel.
My objection is this: I'd definitely prefer if Farsight could target more tables on the top 300 list...
Yes NoEx mod is amazing, but I personally find it unsatisfactory for DMD repositioning, just way too tweaky for my tastes. It definitely solves the monitor #2 problem by letting me have a dynamic backglass!
I'd love to see real multiple monitor support in TPA.
Also, if it helps for political...
There are a handful of topics on multiple monitor (aka "pincab", but really it's just multiple monitors) support in TPA that date back a few years but nothing recent.
Is it still planned for TPA to get support for 2 or 3 monitors:
1. playfield (portrait, widescreen)
2. backglass (ideally 4:3...
Hmm, I do think mirroring a section of another display in real time should be possible, for example:
http://www.actualtools.com/multiplemonitors/features/multi_monitor_desktop_mirroring/
That is,
1. Mark this section of the monitor in coordinates
2. That section of the monitor is copied to...
Worked fine with DX11 for me on the 750Ti at 1080p, this was as of a few weeks ago. I quickly replaced the card with the brand new just released 1050ti because I am super anal about stuff like that though, also, long story but I upgraded the pincab monitor to a nicer IPS model (TN is just ...
I have a 3 monitor (playfield/backglass/dmd) pincab, but when it comes to TPA, after messing around with the mod a lot (which is awesome), I decided that I wanted the DMD to remain on the playfield monitor for a variety of reasons:
1. Not having to hackily adjust the playfield up to "hide" or...
I can confirm 750ti handles tpa at 1080p just great. If those prices drop after the 1050ti (its successor and 40% faster at same watt budget) all the better.
Oh man I was afraid of that. So there's no control over the DMD camera other than setting resolution?
I had one other idea I pm'ed to you, but I'll copy it here for feedback:
Dynamically bitblt (copy) the DMD from its location on screen to another monitor at some reasonable framerate. This way...
