Hadn't heard that before. It's really good.
In return, I offer you something not nearly as good but moderately amusing:
Billy Joel before his solo career.
I think keeping kids away from your machines by default is actually one of the perks of a barcade, honestly.
With a bakecade (a registered trademark of Citizen, Inc.), now you've got little kids AND they've got sticky fingers.
Also, don't people who sit around bakeries/cafés/coffee shops...
Can't wait to get my hands on those physics.
If they're as good as they look, Zen have pretty definitively surpassed any other digital pinball game ever made in flipper physics.
Delicious catches and passes.
Speaking of alphanumerics and Gottlieb, here's a little fun fact. Gottlieb didn't release any alphanumerics until they were bought by Premier. Not even Mylstar produced any (except prototypes).
Hopefully being licensed and numeric doesn't doom Flash Gordon, because that table is amazing. I'll definitely raise a stink for numerics to be included alongside the alphanumerics when they get to them.
I'll be asking Zen for:
Flash Gordon
Barracora
Centaur
EBD
Gorgar
Alien Poker
Embryon...
Agreed. While I don't feel that Bally's average level of quality in the 80s was on par with Williams and they did rapid-fire out a lot of mediocre tables, I have a lot of respect for the machines they tried to make unique from what Williams/Gottlieb/Stern were offering.
I'm hoping Zen...
Yup. 1986 is a pretty easy way to remember which pre-DMD tables are numeric and which are alphanumeric for Williams and Bally.
High Speed came out January 1986. It was the first Williams of '86, the first System 11 and the first Williams alphanumeric.
Bally released Eight Ball Champ, Lucky...
No problem. Here are a few other missing Ballys.
Black Pyramid
Centaur II
Cybernaut
Eight Ball
Fireball Classic
Freedom
Gold Ball
Grand Slam
Granny and the Gators
Kings of Steel
Night Rider
Spy Hunter
Viking
X's & O's
Man they were busy.
I figured. I just like being pedantic on purpose.
Also, adding to the pre-DMD lists:
Alphanumeric WPCs:
Bride of Pin-Bot
Funhouse
Harley-Davidson
Bally A084-91786-AH06 (6803)'s:
Atlantis
Beat the Clock (numeric)
Black Belt/Karate Fight
Blackwater 100
City Slicker
Dungeons & Dragons
Eight Ball...
