For me its a visual thing. If you've read any of my rants in the forums about the lighting in TPA you'll understand. It's the thing that attracts me to a machine more than anything else (other than the gameplay and theme of course). And the LED's just make everything POP more. I love how they...
Yep it's doing it again. Not all the time but seems like every 2nd or third ball. I didnt touch the trough switches at all or move them. The previous owner just had them changed a little while ago too so all brand new. Could it be the new balls? Dammit. I knew I shouldnt have touched anything...
Aww shucks thanks Kev. You are absolutely right. Stepping back and seeing what I was able to do (which admittedly wasn't much) DEFINITELY has a sense of satisfaction! And ya, I'm looking at the rest of the table now and thinking, I can do that! Whereas yesterday I was like "Dear god how do I do...
Before and after - Rails under slingshots and GI under left ramp.
Hard to see the diff in pics but its great! Changed about 6 regular bulbs and three flashers to LED. The flashers are just wildly better than the standard bulbs!
And its hard to see in this pic but I changed two of the lights...
Before and after - Right ramp
There were white standard bulbs, switched them to blue 170 LEDs. As usual, they dont look nearly as good in pics
I only had to partially detach the ramp and lifted it enough to squeeze under and get at the lights.
Ok so I'm all done...for now. The machine actually has a ball eject feature in the op menu. So I did it that way. New balls in. New red rubbers on. Playfield cleaned. AND added a ton of LED's. I got into the areas I was confident I could take apart and get back together, so the GI is about...
Alright so I've designated a couple areas that look very simple to strip. I'm going to do one at a time for now until I get comfortable. The rails under the slings are first. So once I have them off do the lights just pop/twist out?
Heading out now to pick up new flipper rubbers, premium...
Since it was a little wonky at first I think if I take it out I might as well do the whole thing. But for now since i fiddled with it its been working perfectly. So just a cosmetic change. God changing those GI lights looks so intimidating. Anyone know a good link for a tutorial on stripping the...
Yah. I'm going to leave them for now. Gonna watch some YouTube vids and get a better feel for it. Rubbers will be done soon though. And need to figure out how to change the target. I'd prefer blue still.
Thanks!
On the plus side, fiddling with the wire on the target seems to have fixed it. Must've been loose from the move.
I just changed the batteries in the headboard and the entire system reset even though it was still pugged in. Ugh. Had to redo all the settings again.
Here's what I'm talking about:
The first pic is the switch. Looks like just a screw. But that wire on the end has me confuzzled. The second and third pics show the stapled lights
Ok so the flasher isn't out. Just rarely lights up.
Most of the GI lighting is stapled into the field underneath. Ugh. So I might have to go in from the top.
So for the rubbers, just take the glass off, pull off the old ones and stretch on the new?
I just had the table propped up to see...
So I found a flasher that has a bulb out I never noticed before. I also want to change that standup target in the centre of the second pic, as I think it may be a bit glitchy, and I'd prefer the blue one.
But I have no clue how to change it. From what I read it supposed to be super easy...
I shouldn't be. But im jealous. LOTR is my top choice for a table. Just out of my price range right now.
One day.....
Or are they from google ...hahah thanks!
