I bought it and messed around with it a bit.
My impressions so far: the camera is awful and not switchable. The physics are not up to par. But the some of the tables are worth playing. If you like the PlayStation theme, and have enough patience it's probably with $6 for 8 tables
I thought it was ugly and a waste of expensive tech. I don't wanna sound like an armchair designer but I could probably come up with a dozen uses for that screen that are better.
I took a few pictures there as well, but I'm unfortunately not smart enough to post them.
Just got back from there myself! They had a beautiful Whirlwind machine, a couple of Black Knight Tables, and the forst Star Trek TNG ive gotten to play. I enjoyed seeing Wizard of Oz, but have to admit to being a little disappointed with the (ugly) display on the back glass. Can't help but...
I have a 32" Vizio 3D tv. It's the passive technology, which is far cheaper (mine cost $300) than the active screen technology. Zen 2 is by far one of the best games I've seen in the 3D format. Pinball Arcade in 3D sounds amazing, I find that playing in 3D on Zen generally improves my scores so...
Civil War isn't my cup of tea, but anyone looking for a really difficult table with a very deep rules set would do well with it. I really don't have any complaints with it except that it talks too much
I love infinity gauntlet and world war hulk, but they are 2 tables of the 4 in the avengers pack so you can't get them as standalones on console. Wolverine is great too
Was anybody else surprised to see 3D mentioned in the newsletter? I seem to remember that during the 12 days of Christmas Farsighted posted an (fascinating) interview in which one of the many things they discussed was 3D. They seemed to discard the idea completely
I love the idea of adding 3D support. I play Zen exclusively in 3D (unless of course I'm on my vita) and I feel it actually helps improve my game. At first I was worried that the lower frame rate would be an issue, I'm not an expert but I think the reason why it wasn't an issue is because its...
Zen is great in 3D, possibly one of the best looking 3D games I've played. My only gripe is that on my passive Vizio set it can be pretty tough to get the right viewing angle. Zen is the only game I've had that issue with
Don't get me wrong ill probably back Silverball when/if this kickstarter ever goes live (to the tune of $10 or so) it just seems unfair that kickstarter will let you back something with 10's of thousands of your money but doesn't support profit sharing and can't guarantee a finished product. As...
That will be interesting to see I they leave it or not then, it could really affect he leader boards one way or the other. TZ seems too already in my opinion.
And actually I agree with you Nik. I think kickstarter is a terrible 'business' model that forces the consumer to take all of the risk on a project. My point was simply that doing a half baked release to attempt to fund a real release on the most flooded digital marketplace the world has ever...
It's hard enough to get noticed on the App Store. Even if you partner with a famous designer and have a slick new engine there is a better than average chance that your game will get buried. If they were to just do a mediocre release and hope to fund the new engine that way, there's very little...
Whatever happens it'll be interesting to see, as far as I know there has never been a kickstarter funded game on PSN or XBLA. Lets see how Sony handles it. You'd think they would be able to generate codes early, they've done it before
I'm considering kicking in this time, even tho I am generally against kickstarter as a business model. It's also tough to kick in when the rewards (or whatever you call them) aren't generous enough. For example there have been several films that I considered backing that didn't offer even a...
