chaos theory is way more complicated than the simple physics rule set of TPA
there is no spin in TPA
the ball does not leave the table in TPA
no randomness in TPA
much easier to nudge in TPA
less precision needed in TPA to hit ramps and make it all the way round.
I'll be honest I hadn't even spotted the 3 ball option. Given more points are available I think I will give it a go. Thing is with Genie - you can lose 2-3 balls in very quick succession, the 5 balls give you a nice buffer.
Pacman CE deluxe has this feature on Xbox Live. Was a great way for spotting the leaderboard hackers. Not sure how workable it would be for TPA though as quite a lot of data would have to be uploaded after each game?
think this is a bug - I see the same thing on my Nexus 7. I go to hold the left flipper down for the skill shot and the ball plunges :( I've also seen it on AFM too.
Never happens on the Xbox version though.
Yeah - must say I was expecting the mobile scores to be lower based on the lack of nudging. If the mobile scores are indeed higher - that suggests physics differences between console and mobile.
Would love someone from FarSight to offer up some stats and their opinion on which platform is...
so I only just realised that the mobile leaderboards also included PS3 scores!!! :o
A question for FarSight, can you provide some stats across a selection of the most popular tables, showing what percentage of the top 100 scores are for Android / iOS and PS3.
I've love to see what the split...
I'm glad to see more people are highlighting bug fixes as a priority...... I was beginning to think people valued graphics and sound over a playable table :)
that's good to know.............. but I still don't feel comfortable trusting scores across 2 separate code streams. I guess there are too many variables across the mobile platform full stop, which why I prefer the Xbox as provides a more consistent level playing field for comparing scores.
Given they are a different code stream, I can't see how they can be a level playing field. Android is bad enough standalone given the vast ecosytem and device spread, never mind adding in iOS too.
1) Nudge functionality needs improving on mobile platform. User definable selection areas for flippers and nudge controls.
2) Controller support and mapping of controls for mobile platform.
3) Tighten up security on leaderboards so less likely to get hacked. FS to monitor and remove such...
Certainly not a deep table but great fun, both on TPA and in real life. Sort of table I will play for hours then not touch for a month, but still feels fun when I revisit it.
