No hope for planet earth (iOS PBA user reviews)

Not that we should expect bugs but it really is part of the real pinball machine experience. Was just playing the real Medieval Madness machine a few weeks ago and the damn ball would occasionally get stuck in the castle and would end up tilting just to get it out. Also at the pinball expos...

Modded iCade Core with side buttons

Yeah, even though diagonal works and could be used for left/up, right/up, it would be difficult to hit just right when quickly responding. I think combination of joystick and side nudge buttons would be best like you describe. Left, right, and up on joystick can all be for the upward nudges...

Modded iCade Core with side buttons

Diagonal works on joystick. I just tested with an Atari game. Believe it just combines two commands. So technically if you even map where holding down 2 side buttons at once would trigger a different nudge. I would think reverse nudging on the joystick would be best. So if I push right, it...

iOS Version 1.2.8 Discussion And Feedback

I think I was just suggesting the joystick because I don't think I'm going through the trouble adding anymore side buttons. I never got around to adding the special ones. Hope your other idea involves adding a gyroscope to the iCade :) So far liking the new update. The menu buttons looks...

iOS Version 1.2.8 Discussion And Feedback

Yeah, I'm hoping we have some mapping options. Your ideas are good if you haven't modified the unit with side buttons. I would think the joystick would be easier to access with the modified unit. But if we had options, we can setup it however we like. I might try a few games without the...

Modded iCade Core with side buttons

I mentioned this another thread but thought I mention it here too. With the new nudge options just added, I was hoping iCade will get them too. So not really enough buttons to add nudge up, left/up, right/up and keep the start and pause buttons, the best idea would be to have option to use...

iOS Version 1.2.8 Discussion And Feedback

So now with all these extra nudge options, will the iCade be updated too? We still only have nudge left and right and would think if have the option to set the joystick for nudging, this would solve all the extra options. You can still have it work for the plunger since down is not used for...

How's The Pinball Scene By You?

I just had a business trip up in Seattle but didn't get a chance to go the Museum because of their hours. I'm more of fan of the late 80's/early 90's machine though, so Shorty's was perfect for me (other than price). Stayed only 2 blocks away. Got to try several games I've only played on...

Modded iCade Core with side buttons

Great idea. I think I'll try this first. Less work and don't have to cut the tips.

Modded iCade Core with side buttons

I'm confused. So does that mean we should reverse the wiring for now or is it setup correctly? I did the reverse wiring just for side buttons at the moment.

Modded iCade Core with side buttons

I just ordered some. So other than having to cut off the ends, do these just fit in the same size holes or do they need to be widened? Just want to know what I'm in for.

Modded iCade Core with side buttons

I order 4 30mm for flipper and nudge, which i installed. Then the special where supposed to be 24mm but are also 30mm. So I'm saving as a spare or maybe see if I can swap most used top buttons. I hardly play Black Knight and never Harley, so it's no big deal without the specials on the side...

Modded iCade Core with side buttons

Looks like I was shipped the wrong parts and the 24 white is a 30 silent so I didn't install the special buttons. Having the side buttons is so much better and I think any lagged felt with the stock unit is caused by the hard to press buttons. I'm happy with the silent buttons. I'm surprised...

Modded iCade Core with side buttons

I just got my buttons and the 30 are silent and the 24 is regular but, still in the box, they feel about the same. Probably attempt the mod tonight and might reverse the nudge as suggested. Even though the option is coming to reverse, as long as it's optional, I might as well have it setup...

Modded iCade Core with side buttons

I am getting ready to order the side buttons but thought I might as well replace the top buttons too. Do you know what size they are? Also, was trying to decide on the silent vs the original buttons. The iCade buttons are way too noisy, how do the Swanwa original compare? Were the silent...

    iCade Core mini-review and offer

I just got the ICade Core and plan to do the mod soon. It takes some getting used to with the stock unit. The buttons are a little hard to press and prefer the nudge button to be above the flipper button, not to the side. I'm sure they'll be a update with button mapping to allow users to...

Best TPA tables up until now

My favorites are: 1) Attack from Mars - Like the flow of it. Bug in right lanes needs to be fixed though. Lose ball sometimes that way. Also wish Strobe worked. Not sure how it's really supposed to look. 2) Twilight Zone - lots to do and actually got pretty good at. 3) Theater of Magic -...

    A VERY dangerous thread!

All for iOS. 1. Auto detect Ipad version you are using and turn on advanced features (such as improved lighting, transparent ramps) if that version can handle it. Basically don't limit software to old hardware. 2. Nudge forward and improved nudging. Maybe have have a nudge joystick in bottom...
