Ugh, just happened again! By far my best game ever -- hit 10 million (rolled the scoreboard) on my first ball. I finally lose my ball ... And nothing happens. After waiting forever ( is there no ball finder on this table??) I call attendant, only to have them move the captive ball to the...
oh definitely. during multiball it's a different story. but my score went through the roof when i stopped going for it during single ball modes. and i am pretty good at making that shot. in fact the delta shot seems 10 times easier in TPA than it is on the STTNG in my basement. but it still...
there's an option to move the launcher button! I have mine at the top right of the screen. another thing you can do is switch to view #2 -- the launcher button isn't totally covering the outlanes in that view. (also ... 500 billion? that would take hours even with both outlanes walled off!)
if I were to change the rules of the table, I would keep the completely outsized billion point shot, but 1) require much greater variety of shots to get there and 2) remove the random element of the big wheel. I like the idea of gradually building up to an all or nothing jackpot for a long...
congrats, man. BoP is an odd duck scoring wise, but making that billion point shot really is a rush, since it takes a while to get there and it's basically the only thing that matters on that table. so your entire game rides on making that thing. I totally get why all the hate for it exists...
ok finally got 1000 points on this table.
i had previously managed 20 billion (800 pts) by doing repeated Final Frontiers. I'd read here that just going for Borg Multiball was the gateway to huge scores, but i was inexplicably terrible at it whenever i tried. couldn't get more than about 4...
do you mean the way the ball seems to get sucked through the gate sometimes? that's basically how ALL gates work in TPA. if a ball is moving slowly when it hits the gate, it kind of pops through. that's been there since the beginning, probably to squash some bug on some early table regarding...
my Black Hole has a potentiometer in the backbox that controls the speed and pitch of the speech. maybe Centaur has the same thing, and they just have theirs set a little higher. seems likely since they are both talking games from '81 (granted one is bally and the other is gottlieb)
I had both the third lock as well as Shuttle Simulation lit at the upper right lane. The ball went up there, and the game then seemed to try to do both Borg Multiball and Shuttle Simulation simultaneously: The borg appeared on the DMD briefly, the lights on the table went out, the "Red Alert"...
the issue there is licensing. obviously farsight would love to do them. the problem is they're having trouble even getting Disney / Paramount to even give them a price on royalties, last i heard. nobody thinks there's a shortage of interest.
who am i kiddin? i will buy every table farsight puts out.
BUT! there is a special place in my heart for Mousin' Around. a table I played a TON in college, and it has really wonderful flow. sad to see it in last place here! :( criminally underrated pin.
