great write up peter :)
just a quick question though: are you really saying, that before this, you actually never played a rl pinball machine? i mean, im just 6 years older, but i played a ton of pinball irl... maybe not so in last 10-15 years, but up till 1999-2000 i played a lot of different...
indeed :-)
last monday i went to the local billiards club, which allways has three pinball machines set up in perfect working condition and there was a new table, one i never played outside of pinball arcade - black rose... so i'm familiar with the table right... find it kinda meh on tpa...
i'd like to know that too
pro versions of tables with access to the op menu can reset them with the reset button once the coin door is open, so there's that :p
just turning the number of extra balls to zero and changing the replay awards to a credit instead of an extra ball makes a huge difference... on my first try on arabian nights on pc i did 160+ millions, but when i changed the settings in the pro menu as described, it became more of a challenge...
well you could always do it yourself - press the prt scr button and it will put whatever that is on screen at the time in the systems clipboard. the you can paste it to whatever image editing program you use, even the paint program that comes with windows. choose save as, print it out and there...
i've been using xpadder for years on a pc (street fighter, shootemups), and can verify the 'no added lag' as compared to the 'native controls'.
but i do have my usb ports rate upped to 1000mhz (1ms lag) compared to the default usb port 125mhz rate (8ms lag) offcourse.
the new rumble feature is actually quite good :) but it would be nice to have an option to disable it in the future for reasons people posted above (shorter battery life, some just dont like the rumble) -> more options = better
good to see the updates coming so fast and with no problems :)
hey there man, welcome to the forums :)
the problem you are describing is, the ball sometimes bounces so much, it doesnt actually hit the skillshot triggers (as far as i recall, it happens on a real machine too).
havent had any real problems with it myself on tpa but it happens from time to...
both of this problems persist still on the pc version (also on the xbox360). the ball sometimes just goes through solid objects ;(
but i'm am sure glad, that someone finally actually captured the footage of that happening - good job!
using this method i can play with post processing turned on and no input lag
(before i had to switch the post processing off becouse it resulted in massive flipper delay)
after directly comparing the analog nudge controls on pc and xbox360, i can confirm that pc version indeed has only 'full strength' nudge as opposed to the xbox360 version, where you can also nudge just slightly and not with 'full force' only.
it baffles me how i didn't notice that on my own in...
great job farsight! and upgrading tpa from xbox360's long forgotten version to a brand new shiny pc one, is a blast
there are still a couple of minor bugs/quirks lingering about, but the package as a whole is mighty fine indeed
hm, i've had no problems with a wired xbox360 controler, everything works as it should (full analog nudge control). :/
maybe xbox360 pad drivers are not installed?
