There's a difference between bangbacks and death saves, check the glossary on ipdb.org for the details.
I've done bangbacks on Cyclone, Earthshaker, Jack*Bot, and I think High Roller Casino. All of these tables have a center pin between the flippers. TPA won't nudge hard enough to knock the ball from the back wall all the way up onto a flipper, but if there's a center pin and the ball is moving fast enough sideways, it can hit the pin and redirect that horizontal velocity upwards.
I also did a death save once, don't remember for sure but I think it was either Medieval Madness or Whitewater. It was a screaming fast ball down the right outlane and it worked to nudge just as it crossed over so the wall on the left side of the outhole smacked it back up onto the flipper. It was a table where I was going infinite anyway so it didn't matter for the gameplay and was just a curiosity.
