You gotta wonder why whoever called in the prescription didn't use Axl's real name (William Bailey, or Rose, depending on who/what you want to believe)... I mean if you want to preserve anonymity or whatever. Also it's easier to spell?

Quality story spoonman!!! Wonder what that would be worth......?

Go for it Farsight!

Thanks man. :)

As far as what it's worth I'm not sure. I posted this story a while back on the anniversary of the day when I decided to snap the picture for Facebook and had a PM offer of $100, but I'd never part with it anyway.

I wondered the same thing. According to Wikipedia he had legally changed his name to W. Axl Rose by this point and being that it's a prescription they probably had to use his real name, even though it's a typo.

From Wikipedia:
his friends suggested he call himself Axl Rose;[15][28] he legally changed his name to W. Axl Rose prior to signing his contract with Geffen Records in March 1986

This is so dumb. You guys act like Axl reads his own mail and takes his own calls. It's intellectual property. There is an established dollar amount for any of their properties which are handled by the lawyers assigned to those properties. It's not like Axl sits down every day and reviews every item of merchandise that carry the GnR logo or his likeness being sold around the world.

GNR is amazing as is their pinball machine. It would be a great addition to TPA. You're the one who sucks, Rich.

Way to get personal, jerk. GnR had one good album and cranked out junk EPs and double albums and were never good live. Slash carried that band. Don't get mad at me because you have terrible taste in music.

I'd suggest that if you don't like Guns N' Roses, this is not the thread you want to be hanging around in or commenting in.

Rich hates on everything, ignore him. Look through his post history, it's full of hate on everything from table art to acronyms to kickstarters.

Yep. He might want to consider contributing to this forum rather than sniping at it.

That's just a friendly mod warning.

I've been known for spewing-at least 1,095 of my posts are feeble attempts to call FarSight out for lack of console support. But saying that people suck just because of what table they want and who their favorite band is goes way too far, even by my standards, or as some would say, lack thereof.

I will say that people here have been, at worst, civil with my table requests. I try to do the same for others, and we should all do that as well. Who knows?-you may end up liking it.

I *kind of* liked the band back in high school, but I've really grown to dislike them as the years have gone by.

The machine is okay. It's one of those games that a lot of people seem to like but I've never really been crazy about.

But in any case, if FS ever wants to get the game in TPA, there's no better time than now. It would definitely be a big seller.

I feel safe in saying that I'm absolutely 100% sure Farsight would love to put GNR in TPA, now or any other time. It's all about the license, and as GNR's songs are still very widely played, and their albums are still purchased, and there is still lots of interest in proposed concerts, it's gotta be a very expensive license. Probably less expensive than Star Wars, but more than most others.

I'd call the GNR table "okay" also. I played it a lot when it first came out. I thought it was fairly dull, but the sound is great, at least if you're OK with their music. And I do mean "great" -- it really rocks and sounds awesome on location.

I should add that it's chock-full of cheezy DMD animations and sound effects, like most DE/Segas, and the match animation is rather nauseating, but accurately reflective of GNR's attitude.

Other way around here, I thought Guns n Roses was overblown lowbrow pandering back in high school, but have come to like them a lot since, as the last true great rock band before the fragmentation of pop music.

Although one of my major I'm-getting-old moments was when classic rock stations started playing GnR...

Ditto. My 'old' moment is a little different though. Hearing GnR on my alternative station. When GnR was popular, same station was playing new wave, so revisionist history on what is acceptable to play on that station made me feel old. Conversely, the classic rock station played Beastie Boy's 'Fight For Your Right' which I'm sure was just as shocking to fans of that station (where GnR WAS played back in the day).
