Best Camera Angle per table.

I am new to TPA but am noticing while I normally play on (normal) camera mode certain tables are much easier or funny on extreme angles. Example, Black Hole, BK200 and Moster Bash were massive pains in the butt to me until I set it up on medium or high camera while Dr Dude was nothing but awful until I not only set my camera low but turn my tablet sideways so the flippers were huge. The same was true with the Elvira tables, I got started clearing wizard goals once I focused on the flippers and not the table.

Anyone else find specific camera angles that work best for them on specific tables or do you always use the same angle.

added bonus is setting the camera angle really low is giving me deja vu from when I was barely tall enough to look over the table playing Firepower.

I do use different angles per table. Mostly based on the flipper configuration. On a regular two-flipper game, I use the second lowest angle. You're right that making the flippers bigger and focusing on them more is the way to go. It's like golf: keep your head down and focus on striking the ball. You know where the target is, don't lift your head to look at it.

On games with upper flippers, I usually need the camera one notch higher to be able to see the upper flippers clearly.

Finally, camera locking is an issue. Some tables I always keep it locked - especially tables where a ramp shot makes the camera disorientingly zoom upwards for no purpose since the ball is coming right back down anyway. Taxi is the worst offender there. Some tables I need to leave it unlocked, most with upper flippers, particularly TZ and Genie. STTNG is an exception (need to leave it locked despite the upper flipper) thanks to the camera zooming up PAST the upper flipper on a left orbit shot.

Second to lowest angle for me, although I should try unlocking it for upper flipper tables(as if this vikingerik guy knows anything ;)). For me, I can't stand the camera moving all the time. I do prefer a low camera angle though.

Second to lowest for me as well. Locked camer for most pins. Scrolling camera for TZ, White Water, and maybe a few others.

Usually one of the middle two options, depending on the table, although for my tablet I'm finding the highest option is good at times.

I keep the camera locked at all times, event camera off, MB camera off. I trust that FS put scripted zooms in when the table demands (the spider on Elvira, cannon on T2, etc.) :)

Personally I would love to have some kind of mouse-look enabled on PC, so I can control the camera and line up shots.

I always leave it locked, no scrolling.

As for angle, I used to prefer second lowest for reading the flipper, but now I find myself using a higher angle lately to read ball path, especially since the newer tables are lacking more extra balls so keeping the ball in play is more important than hitting shots IMO, but once I got used to the flipper angles, no biggie.

I keep the camera locked, with event and multiball cameras turned off pretty much all the time. There is the odd table, STTNG i'm looking at you, that needs the event cam turned on.

I prefer camera view 3, in portrait perspective, as it means I won't have to mess around table to table and can just charge the arcade, if I start being picky about angle then it goes on a per table basis; depending on how the angles were set, how much of the outlanes are visible etc.

When I play in landscape it's a toss up between views 1 & 4; again depending on how the angles were set on the table selected. Some tables have exceptionally low camera angles.

I usually prefer to play from view 2 or 3, depending on which is closer to roughly the angle I'd see at a real table. I do use the others occasionally for something different but not that often. The lowest one I sometimes like for calmly lining up accurate shots, but it's not so good when things get hectic.

I vary a lot between locked and unlocked however. I usually like locked better and think I generally play better with a stable view, but zooming in just looks good on some tables and makes some things a lot easier to see on others. Sometimes on tables like EATPM and AFM I'll even unlock the camera as the ball goes into specific spots like the rollovers you need to light and then lock it again when it returns to normal play.

I use the second lowest as well, except for maybe a handful of tables where I go to either one lower or one higher than 2nd lowest. I usually keep it locked too except for a few tbles where you really need a closer view of upper areas.

I really wish they would have done it with 5 viewing angles like PHoF because a few tables don't have a really comfortable angle for me. That one extra angle usually pretty close to what our current 2nd lowest is pretty much guaranteed that there was going to be a nice comfortable angle for everyone. Of course if they could make it completely customizable that would be ideal.

Yeah!

I was so surprised when I bought Williams PHOF on 360 and found that it has 5 angles per table.

I guess I don't care so much about completely customizable, but 5 set angles(consistent across all tables) would be a great compromise.

Funhouse on angle two is the table and angle match that looks the best to me. Usually I'll go between one and two on all the other tables. Except El Dorado which, when once in a blue moon I do play, I'll go three or four. I also shut off the multiball cam as I think it takes you out of the game.

On plunger cam I always use two, unless i have to time something on the field like in Diner or Dr. Dude.

I wish the camera angles were more consistent. Some have 4 very different and useful angles. Other tables have 4 very similar angles that leave a lot of the screen unused.
