The jackpot shot is nearly impossible on TPA though. I don't recall it as being that difficult on a real FH.

Funhouse is easier than in real life but that's all because randomness is eliminated. The shots themselves and the overall behavior of the table are spot-on. The tricks for the real table all work in the digital version.

My experience with most of the TPA tables is pretty limited IRL but not when it comes to Funhouse. I'd say that one is the most accurate, at least as far as I can tell.

I agree with you on this. When Funhouse and BOP came out I thought it was the closest thing to a real machine physics wise. And I always said that they should tune most of the tables to what they did with that pack. I love Monster Bash but I feel the ball is still too 'floaty/Bouncy'. The balls need more weight.

Black Hole is a VERY accurate recreation (except for the backbox, which looks like crap compared to the real thing*). the ball acts pretty much the same as the one in my basement. the one physics error is that in real life, the re-entry gate is actually soft -- if a ball in the main playfield goes up the flipper lane and hits it with any velocity, it WILL push that gate open and drain. it seems locked closed in TPA. that's a pretty minor thing, though.
The lower playfield is completely wrong. The flippers should be further apart, with a post between them. That detail alone should disqualify this table from realistic consideration.

I think from STTNG on, they keep getting a little better. Aside from a forgiving skill shot (going for it IRL is playing Russian Roulette) WW plays pretty close to the machine near me.

As best I remember, the Black Hole on location here does not have a center post for the lower playfield, and its flippers are not what I'd consider unusually far apart.

i owned a black hole machine for years...there was no center post...maybe a later version or mod had it but the originals didn't...made for a very frustrating but somehow compelling machine...and i agree about the backglass...the real one was absolutely gorgeous...d.m.
