I think what we need is FS to make a decision on if they are going to keep their promise or not. Doesn't matter what anybody posts here. It's up to them. The ball is in their court. Do they hit a home run, or strikeout?

Here is the quote from Newsletter #14.

"We've finally been greenlit on Steam!

We expect to have a new version of the Pinball Arcade available on Steam in a couple of months. Thanks for your patience and for your support in voting for us!

To celebrate, Kickstarter backers who selected the Windows version can expect to be getting a beta build of the Windows version in the next several weeks." - Pinball Arcade - Newsletter 14

We will do exactly that. For TZ and TNG, if you chose PC as your platform originally then you will be granted access to the steam beta.

So as the other Mike indicated (takes "up to one business day"), will we have access in the next 24 hours?

That's not what he said

I was able to request keys today. I'm not sure how long it takes, I think I read it can take up to 1 business day, but I'm not sure.

Key words "not sure" and "can take up to"

That's as strong a maybe as you'll ever get.

Once we get everything ready to go we will start to distribute the codes. Going to get them to everyone as soon as we can. Could take a few days.

This thread has descended into madness. It is now temporarily closed, and today's posts deleted. We will try again tomorrow, hopefully with better results.

(FarSight representatives: If you have announcements that you want posted in the meantime, just let one of the moderators know.)

OK, let's try this again, but let's try to keep calm and sane this time, and specifically let's avoid asking questions that have already been answered repeatedly.

The Skynet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes on-line August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th.

You have no idea how much i want to start yelling that it's August right now...but I won't

All we know right now is that it IS in beta, but until the steam codes are distributed then people who have kickstarted will not be able to do anything with this.

If there's any consolation, it's not as if the PC coders are just twiddling their thumbs waiting for input, chances are they might be able to iron out a few more bugs while they sort out the steam codes so everyone wins.

This is where I feel like you guys mislead people and why they are disgruntled. You go silent for months on end and then dangle a carrot only to disappear again. That newsletter is from April. It has been almost 4 months now...way more time than the several of weeks statement. Now you say we will get our codes in several days. I hope it is true but I really don't believe it. I bought every TPA table for Mac and 360 up until the TZ and STNG Kickstarter. I picked PC because I have a cab and I wanted to add some TPA tables. Ever since those Kickstarters, I haven't bought another table and I probably never will. I am not going to ask for a refund. I will eventually collect my reward but then I am done with TPA. I will be supporting Zen as they have embraced the cabinet community and I am backing Pro Pinball because I feel that they will live up to their promises. I doubt that my decision will make any impact but it's the only way I can express my disappointment. You guys lost a fan here.

There has been dialogue about the beta since then (almost once a week from Mike Reitmeyer in an attempt to keep forum members from exploding), he re-posted that quote only to clear up a misunderstanding about who would receive beta access. It isn't misleading, it's that some folks cant be bothered to read past today's posts in order to get any misunderstandings cleared up.

All of the misunderstandings would be cleared up if they took the time to explain on Kickstarter.

I agree small info updates for kickstarter like the ones they do here on the forums would be great. But even after the info we have gotten here and several Mods explaining things down to the letter we still have plenty of misunderstandings and arguments.

Truth is we've just been waiting a while and it bugs some people. But very soon that won't be an issue any more and we'll argue about other things.

So hopefully tomorrow is the key release. Hopefully it's still scheduled for August 30th.

I had to check to see who posted this. Thought I might have been sleep posting or something.
Zen sucks dude . Don't take it out on yourself with Zen. Chill a few more days.

Oh dear, there's an incredible amount of anger in this thread. There may have been some miscommunications, but going into insane rage rants is honestly pretty embarassing. Can't we all just have a good hug and be glad the PC version is close to release instead of baying for blood?
