http://blahcadepinball.com/#open is the new location for the BlahCade.

Yep, thanks to you guys who purchased T-shirts, we've been able to afford a domain for two years, and I've set up the site using a blog format with the open source blog platform, http://hubpress.io

When I was making the site, I discovered that we actually had two Episode 25s.

So Episode 47 is actually http://blahcadepinball.com/2016/03/03/Episode-48-Jarful-Meaty-Prickly-Pinball-Discussion.html

Episode summary, links, and timings are all in the post.

Enjoy the new site.

Awesome podcast guys! Loved it

(Only just started listening) :) haha

***now that I'm done listening... Loved the season 6 (predictions). Sorry SYT, but I could hear it in the tone of your voice that Eight Ball Deluxe is a lock. I agree about Embryon. Nothing against Paragon, but I've played them both, right next to eachother and just had more fun with Embryon. Don't know anything about Medusa though. Besides the fact that there's one in the beginning of Children of the Corn. Here's some tables I'm surprised weren't mentioned... Tommy (gotta have at least one data east, why not the best?), Mousin Around, Bad Cats (I know it's nothing like mousin, but they always seem to go together in these forums), Sorcerer, Congo... And as far as completing trilogies, Space Sation, Party Animal. No mention of TX Sector. Speaking of Congo, some low hanging fruit licensed tables. JM would be awesome, maybe some Demolition Man. Still lotsa possibilities, and I know if you covered all of them it would take over an hour. I see Swords of Fury as a lock also. Banzai Run too. I'm with you SYT on Rollergames, that would be a blast. NBA Fastbreak would be great, just don't see it happening. Howbout some Playboy? Anyways, loved the podcast, even though you tangents away from the Feb tourney pretty quickly ;) keep it up guys. Hard to predict season 6, but fun nonetheless because you know there's gonna be some curveballs thrown in there. I'm curious about the Halloween table

Jaffle maker. I don't know what they call them here in the US. But I instantly recognized the description of the toasted sandwich maker that my dad has been using for the last 35 years (I last visited in 2015, and it was still operational, so I assume it's still working).

"Toasted sandwich maker"? I make a toasted sandwich by making toast, and then putting stuff on it to make a sandwich (my toasted BLT's are to die for). Why would one use a separate machine to make a separate sandwich? Just curious, well since I love toasted sandwiches, I may have to look into this product if it sounds worthwhile... :)

Honestly, I don't know. After 35 years of always calling it "the toasted sandwich maker", that's what it is. Personally I use the griddler, but of course it doesn't do the "sealed-in sides and steaming the contents" thing, though I suppose I could get special plates for that. Or maybe experiment with the waffle plates.

My momma wanted me to say that she uses one of these, and that it works great. I suppose I forgot about it, but can vouch for the tastiness of the sandwiches.

Wikipedia calls it a pie iron, but I've never heard that term either. I don't know if my momma's has this feature: "The plates seal the outside edges of the bread together, to completely enclose the filling." It sounds nice, though!

A funny line: "Sandwich toasters are notorious for being used relatively little, because of their specialised nature. A survey carried out in 2005 suggested that 45% of British adults owned but did not use sandwich toasters."

Well it's about lunchtime, maybe I'll have toasted sandwiches... Hmm, I wonder if you can make a Reuben (the all-time greatest sandwich) with one of these things.

I think (based on a Google search) they are simply known as "sandwich grills" here in the states. The ones I used to see at the county fair, where they'd make fruit pies and blueberry muffins, looked like this:

I have no idea if that is actually what Jared was talking about though!

Apart from the color, that's pretty much what my dad has. Right down to the pattern of the ridges.

Extork I honestly don't know the tables for season 6. Whatever you heard in my voice for EBD, it wasn't based on secret knowledge! I played that and Breakshot with Norman, and I know both left a very favorable impression on him. That's the last I've heard, and a lot depends on Norman selling the other guys (mainly Bobby) on what he thinks is fun. That's why when I hear he likes a table I'm fond of, I get excited that the possibilities for inclusion just went up. My wishlist was a lot of what I pitched, hard, to him at Arcade Expo.

I have no experience with TX Sector, I have played but don't really have thoughts on Space Station or Party Animal, and I really don't get what the big deal is with Congo as annoyance is all I've taken away from it. I do want Mousin' Around, Banzai Run, and quite a few others, but what I listed is what I'd rather have sooner. I'm tellin' ya, eventually I want every unlicensed Williams and Bally table from '85 on.

By the way guys, our website is functional. Jared has been getting all the old episodes onto it, playing with functionality. I believe he even enabled comments. Check it out, won't ya?

For me at least, the Blahcade logo when you go into the "posts" is a placeholder. So maybe a typo in the URL there or something.

You're using Disqus, which is pretty handy, I just wish I could set it up to use different profiles in different places (there's a baseball blog I occasionally comment on and I'd rather use a baseball-themed name and avatar there, just because).

Your Left frame breaks on page 2, now the frame fills the entire screen on full page views
The older page link is good for page 2, but when you go to page 3+ it open in a new tab instead of the same one

Generally it needs to be frozen and worked on in a sandboxed test version before going live.

Also the photo on the landing page obscures the text and various logos (G+, etc) at my resolution (1280x1024). The text is right on top of the reflection off the floor and the various pinball tables.

Also... please stop it opening a new tab every time I navigate to a new page. I click on a few links, change pages, etc., then look up and I have a dozen tabs open.

It's a bug in that theme bundle. I've been testing it for a week and decided to "f#ck it: let's release". I can tweak it as time goes by.

Tap the logo placeholder to collapse the page takeover.

I'll see if I can tweak the .erb templates and fix it, otherwise it's will be a different theme.

I'm using baked in themes and don't have control.

Web dev is hard.

You guys should look up hobo pie makers. We used to use them over the campfire when I was a kid, but the end result looked a lot like those pictures up there. We did pizza hobo pies the most. And sometimes used pie filling, cherry or blueberry.

SYT. My bad. I know you've said before that it kinda bugs you when people think you know stuff that you don't. It's just, I thought there'd be at least one table in your wishlist that you already knew would make it, so I guessed EBD. Which I think would be cool just because when I show new people TPA, they're more likely to recognize it. I don't greet people with TPA talk though, haha. Other than that I don't really have an opinion on it. Only played it once while I was waiting to play JD.

As far as Congo, I didn't get a whole lotta play time on that either. But from what I remember, I liked the flow, art, layout. It was right after I played Dr Who, and I remember liking Congo better. But I liked The Shadow even more than those. Not by much, cause I'd like to see them all. I do mention Congo a lot, maybe cause I think it's underrated, but I like Demolition Man about the same too.

If they want to complete trilogies, that would be fine with me. I don't think it should be just for the sake of completing them. I forgot to mention Comet too. People seem to either love it or hate it. Maybe it would be like Fire! in the fact that it might not translate too well, but who knows?

The only thing I don't love about Conga is the lower playfield. I really dig the rest of it. I don't like the movie Congo though.

I've seen The Shadow. Suffice it to say, the pinball is immensely superior. Also Shadow has an in-built advantage vs Johnny Mnemonic and Congo, because I've played the pinball. I wouldn't mind Demo Man, but Shadow is better.
