In general and for ALL games:
You should always buy directly from the marketplace rather than doing it from with-in a game that's running. The number one reason is that in-game purchases don't always show everything that is available, some games may require a patch before extra content is shown with-in a game.
On the plus side your get to start your game from fresh with the new content in place rather than have it bolted on while a game is already running...
