That's right... I'm invading Pelham once again to play some quality pinball for about 3 hours this Sunday. There's many games I've seen in video form but not in real life... and now it's time to play them!

I'm hoping to get some time with Banzai Run and Cyclone, two tables which look awesome. I also want to spend some tokens on Data East machines - if I'm lucky I might get a high score on Guns 'n Roses or Tales from the Crypt. I am also excited about seeing how Popeye Saves the Earth is actually a nice deep game - and don't forget that I have to play more Wizard of Oz and Star Trek to stay up to date ;)
I might be able to post some pictures up of the machines. Hopefully Rollergames and Time Machine have finally finished their refurbs... I'm still waiting on Bride of Pin*Bot, Haunted House, and The Getaway though. Expect me to post up info later! :)

I can't wait to go back and hope you have a great time. Remember to save some quarters for the shadow, Johnny mnemonic and of course party zone.

Cool. I have confirmed that I'm FINALLY going to rev up Banzai Run after watching the tutorial.
Also going to play Harley-Davidson and Junkyard...

I'm baaaack!

Spent lots of time with Star Wars, Tales from the Crypt, NASCAR, and Riverboat Gambler today. Sadly was never able to get to Party Zone, Johnny Mnemonic was gone (again?), Transporter was off, you get the idea. But I did enjoy the games I listed above. Star Wars has the new 2012 code and plays great with it, I came so close to getting the Jackpot in Tri-Ball but failed... balls are tough to cradle after hitting the Death Star. Tales from the Crypt was still as awesome as I remember it, definitely a candidate for TPA with the deep rules and layout. NASCAR was in perfect condition as usual, managed a Happy Hour - Speed Shots stack and got big points. Riverboat Gambler was a surprise hit, love the layout, rule set, and that dang theme that gets stuck in your head (ridin' on that lucky riverboat...) - reminds me a bit of Mousin' Around but still something I have to play again.

Tried playing with WOZ and STLE but they were both drainers. And yes, I did play Banzai Run this trip, Nightwing... and I absolutely adore it. Great audiovisual package, nice layout, everything a Pat Lawlor game could ever need. Also played Space Station and enjoyed it... boy, multiball is hard. So annoying when you have to REDOCK NOW and the voice is telling you to REDOCK NOW and you can't REDOCK NOW.

Very good trip overall. Not as memorable as my previous trips, but still, it was a trip to an arcade I love. One last note... many of the machines in the back room (Gilligan's Island, Terminator 2, Lethal Weapon) were taken out... weird. But there was one new machine, a machine I had always wanted to play. Jurassic Park. But it wasn't working... still, maybe next time? :)

If Wizard of Oz was a drainer, you're doing it wrong. What were you aiming for? It's a tough machine, but I can't say in all the times I've played it that I've seen a single drain I didn't deserve.
