With the fast number of posts in the predict Season 5 thread, I thought I'd take a stab at having a prediction contest. I'm also interested in knowing who the best predictors are, so I can maybe "follow" them. Here are the rules:
* To enter, post in this thread your predictions for Table Packs #39 - #50. If the name of a table is ambiguous, please try to specify exactly which table you mean; don't say "Star Wars", say "Star Wars (DE)" or "Star Wars Trilogy", etc. I will reply if I am not sure which table you mean. As an example, here is my entry:
39. Road Show
40. Paragon
41. The Getaway: High Speed 2
42. F-14 Tomcat
43. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
44. Comet
45. Wipe Out
46. Safe Cracker
47. Cactus Jack's
48. Hurricane
49. Bad Cats
50. The Simpsons Pinball Party
* The deadline for entries is Sunday, May 31, 11:59pm ET.
* You get ten points for each of the twelve tables that end up actually being one of the next twelve tables.
* For the tables you correctly pick, you get bonus points for how close your predicted Table Pack number is to the actual Table Pack Number. You get five bonus points for getting the Table Pack number exactly right, four if it's off by one, three if it's off by two, two if it's off by three, and one if it's off by four. "Off" means off in either direction. Example: if Road Show is actually Table Pack #39, I get 15 points. If Bad Cats is actually Table Pack #46, I get 12 points. If Bad Cats is actually Table Pack #40, I get 10 points.
* I will post updated scores regularly, perhaps monthly, depending on number of entries.
* I will actually run this contest if at least two other people post their predictions.
* This is just for fun and braggin' rights... sorry, no prizes.
* I reserve the right to alter the rules before May 31 if it seems like a good idea.
So post your predictions!
EDIT:
* If Farsight releases a double pack, or something else happens to make the ordering of released tables unclear, I'll use the average of their position to calculate bonus points. I'll give an example if/when it happens or on request .
* A table like TAF Gold that is not available to all players won't be counted as one of TPA's next twelve tables.
