I have been dragging my heels, being lazy about starting a contest for Season 6. Or maybe not sure if there was much interest. Anyway, it's almost too late to start... Friday, June 24 will be four weeks since TX-Sector, and so has about a 50% chance of being the date of the first Season 6 table. So what the heck, let's have a contest. Here are the rules, the same as for the last one (which can be viewed here):
* To enter, post in this thread your predictions for Season 6 (Table Packs #51 - #60), in the order that you think they will be released. You will earn points for picking a table that is actually released in Season 6, and for picking it to be released close to the order it was actually released. Scoring details are below.
* Important: you must pick only ten tables. I know that there is interest in another possible EM two-pack, but we don't know if one is coming or not, and I've decided that it's just too hard to try to make a scoring system that handles all possibilities of whether people pick 10 or 11 tables, and whether 10 or 11 tables are actually released . If a two-pack is part of Season 6, you will get full points for picking either of the two tables in the pack. Of course, feel free to mention after your ten table picks if you think a two-pack will happen, and what the other table will be, etc. .
* If the name of a table is ambiguous, please try to specify exactly which table you mean; don't say "Star Wars", say "Star Wars (DE)" or "Star Wars Trilogy", etc. I will reply if I am not sure which table you mean. (You don't need to give the manufacturer or year as I do below, unless they're needed to clarify).
* As an example for the scoring details, here is my entry:
1. Indianapolis 500 (WMS, 1995)
2. Pinball Magic (Capcom, 1996)
3. Eight Ball Deluxe (Bally, 1981)
4. Congo (WMS, 1995)
5. Dr. Who (WMS, 1992)
6. Devil's Dare (Gottlieb, 1982)
7. A.G. Soccer-Ball (Alvin G, 1991)
8. Playboy (Bally, 1978)
9. Big Bang Bar (Capcom, 1996)
10. Rollergames (WMS, 1990)
* The deadline for entries is Friday, June 24, 2016, 12:00 noon ET (U.S. Eastern Time), unless the first table is NOT released that day, in which case the deadline is a week later: Friday, July 1, 2016, 12:00 noon ET.
* You get ten points for each of the ten tables that end up actually being one of the next ten tables.
* For the tables that you correctly pick, you get bonus points for how close your predicted order is to the actual order. You get five bonus points for getting the order exactly right, four if it's off by one, three if it's off by two, two if it's off by three, and one if it's off by four. "Off" means off in either direction.
* As mentioned above, if a two-pack is released, you will receive points for either of the two tables that you picked. Both tables would have the same "order" as if only one table was released; the last table of the season has "order" 10, even if 11 tables were actually released, two being in one table pack.
* Examples:
- If A.G. Soccer-Ball is actually the 7th table of Season 6, I get 15 points.
- If it is the 8th table, I get 14 points.
- If it is the 1st table, I get 10 points.
* I will post updated scores regularly, perhaps monthly, depending on number of entries.
If you posted a Season 6 entry in the previous thread, I will copy-and-paste it here in my next post, as your entry. You can revise it up to the deadline if you want.
