oh i'm sorry, i thought perhaps you were being sarcastic, as the video modes are indeed horrible

He is indeed being sarcastic...

Cannot wait to play this at home. This is actually my favorite pool themed table to play. I've played this classic many, many times over the years.

I was shocked (and excited!) when I found out it was being released instead of "Eight Ball Deluxe". From what I've seen, the table looks fantastic!

I am continually surprised by CBW. Having not played this one before I was a bit underwhelmed by it's release, not because it is a Gottlieb, but because I find most Pool themes to be a bit lacking in some way personally. But with the variety of shots and the layout that is familiar due to Big Shot and the addition of a few fun, but not over played, toys the playfield seems to offer potential for differing playstyles.

Yes, it can be a one shot game if you want to make it a strictly score chasing game, however there is variety enough to make it more than just that ramp shot.

Agreed.

Everything you just said is why I could never understand why so many were trashing the game when they knew it was a possible table for 20?

It's certainly one of Gottlieb's better games.

I have to say that despite what I imagined this to be, this table is really growing on me. Not played the real thing though. The cue ball appears to have real weight to it. Modes come thick and fast. I do play with the sound down as I found the speech getting a tad repetitive.

Got to agree with Dan Dan the Pinball Man though, video modes are a a bit terrible. Only cos I find catching the ball virtually impossible

Yeah, the cue ball is well done! I am surprised how good this table was, probably my Gottlieb favorite together with Wipe Out.

I think the "Clean Sweep" is definetely a bug. It won't register on iOS. Just waiting for the thread about CBW to come up to register it. Kinda sucks because I really wanted to go for the 9-ball Wizard goal. Thought it would be nearly impossible but it doesn't seem all that bad.

So, I figured out what the problem was. Appearantly the goal is only registered if the full animation is shown. If a target is hit or something like that which turns off the animation, then it won't count. Clearly a bug...

This is a good table. The gimmick with the cue ball works surprisingly well. The weak spot here ar the flippers that don't feel dynamic at all. That of course is a problem with many Gottliebs.
Anyway- a pleasant surprise.

You mean the Sweet Spot? I got it within a try or two; it's really that simple.

Hehe, yeah. Sweet Spot (don't know where I got Clean Sheet from :) ).

Actually, it's not :) I hit Sweet spot about 7 or 8 times before it finally registered so there is definitely something fishy here. I am pretty sure it has to do with the goal not registering if the full animation is not shown. Which makes sense considering how the app is programmed.

Finally got that 1/2 billion shot, after some 30+ attempts on 9-ball. Phew.

Okay table not the best but it´s a bit different at least. The video modes is a bit of a riddle. Is there no clue to where the king hides? If it just guess work I don´t see the point. And catch the ball I have such trouble with. I kind of expect a pattern but there don´t appear to be one. I would hope it would be easier to take it on bounce 3 then bounce 1 :)
