Definitive explanation of the leaderboards?

Hi guys,
I just joined the PC crowd while still playing predominantly on iOS. I was suprised to find that the PC TPA doesn't have a seperate leaderboard and that made me wonder about how it is all organised at this moment. After searching through some threads I think it is like this:

- Via pinballarcade.com you can view dayly, monthly and all-time combined leaderboards, presumably over all platforms. There are some wild scores on there, some must be bogus or misplaced when uploaded.
- Steam PC version has access to the mobile leaderboards. The question is if you score higher on the PC than the score on mobile, does it award HOF points retroactively on mobile? I figure not because those HOF points are awarded to local scores as far as I know, but haven't posted a better score yet from PC. Also, does "mobile" mean only Android and iOS? I think it does, because I would say that PSVita and Nintendo3DS (and maybe Kindle Fire) would be seen as "handheld"
- Android and iOS have combined leaderboards. I didn't know that, and I am not yet sure but some posts seem to indicate this. They now share with PC also. They have HOF points, and iOS has gamecenter boards also.
- All other platforms probably have seperate leaderboards? These are: XBOX360, PS3/4, PSVita, Wii(U), Ouya, Mac, Nintendo 3DS and Kindle Fire. I don't know if they have HOF points?

Anyway, a lot of questions abound and some clarification would be much appreciated!

As far as I know every single platform except Xbox360 is gathered into the leaderboards you see on the site/on PC. I know for a fact Vita/PS3 scores are. I can't say for sure on the outliers like WiiU/Ouya/Mac though.

From what I can tell lookig at our clients and what not is that the scores are sent to a master database between all platforms (excluding 360 I think) and organized that way based on your farsight user account. To answer another question you might have, yes there are bogus scores on the leaderboards, they are gained via cheating somehow. Getting over 7trillion points on any of the tables out on TPA right now would take a minimum of several days of gametime (and the trillion level scores are on tables where that would likely take over a week of straight playtime)

I remember seeing someone get something like a 12-figure sum on Central Park. I figured out mathematically that a score like that would take about 200000 years of constant play time...

The FarSight account thing is not across all platforms. On the PS3 you don't sign in with a FarSight account. There's nothing in the game on the PS3 that links a player to their FarSight account.
