I'm agreeing with you dude. My point is that the table's not racist. John Wayne and the other characters are just over the top.

It's like saying Dr. Dude's "geek form" is racist.

People are soo touchy about this. Why? It's 2013. My generation (1980's children) is not racist. Even though many of our grandparents were, a little bit, sometimes, it didn't rub off on us. And personally i remember a little bit of racism from my grandfather, but later before he passed he made it a point to say there are really great people of color. In the 80's and 90's it was much more common but today things have changed, and he is a testament to that. I think we're getting to a point where racial sensitivity is more of the problem. I mean sheesh.

If TPA can handle Champion Pub's ethnic generalizations, I think Diner will be fine, haha. Great game, hope it makes it.

Also, very difficult to convey ethnicity via audio without accents. Plus, accents by themselves aren't offensive. Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's... THAT'S offensive.

Stereotypes? Haji, ostensibly a Hindu, orders a Hot Dog in blatant disobedience of his religion's taboo against eating beef. This is not a stereotype; this is a man challenging the very foundations of his belief system. Why have these diverse individuals gathered in this particular diner at midnight on a full moon? What secrets do they hold, and why are they all in such a huge hurry? Diner is a complex and nuanced character study. The only thing offensive is the suggestion that Farsight should shy away from these mature and challenging themes.

And yes, of course kidding, but these are cultural artifacts from the past, and reflective of the norms of the times. To judge them harshly based on today's standards of sensitivity would be chronocentic.

I don't think its racist at all. There's nothing wrong with using accents, people have accents, Indian people sound different to Vietnamese people when they speak English, unless they learned it as their first language in a western country, then they sound the same as everyone else.

Even if it was totally racist, it would still have value as an artefact of a bygone era. I have all the Tintin books, and some of the earliest ones have him booting and swearing at black people and killing elephants and tigers for sport, and god knows what else that nowadays is offensive to most, but they are still part of the collection.

The only pin I can think of that would probably never be digitised in TPA is the modern Stern Playboy with all the tits and fanny on display. I doubt they'd bother with that, as the market would be so much smaller and it'd need an 18 certificate.

Right, and why are the Dutch always wearing wooden clogs while holding a bouquet of tulips in tourist brochures? People must think they'll be visiting the land of the imbeciles.

Sidenote: whoever looks like this in our country will be locked away for a long time.

i travel to The Netherlands twice a month for a few days each time, and my impression of the Dutch people is that they rock. Laid back, friendly, great sense of humour, don't take themselves too seriously, accepting of other cultures and lifestyles, well educated about the world outside their borders, and more pinball than the UK. their beer isn't much to write home about, but they import loads of Belgian beer so all is well there.

the women are also mostly super-hot (maybe because everyone cycles)

Let's not forget Stern's custom NFL tables. Washington Redskins anyone?

I think the Redskins logo, is one of the classiest portrails of a Native American. He looks dignified, strong, and proud.

The logo is wonderful. I think if they just changed the name to the Washington Cherokees, it would be a win win.

Now the Cleveland Indians. That's ****ing racist. Unlike the Washington Cherokee, it's basically a cartoon, blackfaced indian. VERY offensive imo.
