Now... Taf gold... Two seasons pass pro, yep I am in.
I'll take one on PC and the other one on Android ^^

Yep this is going to be hard to pass up now especially with it being pro season passes. They left the best until last.
PC and Android would be the logical choice for me seeing as the IOS season pass likely won't be available until the end of the season.

Looks like it is definitly going to make the goal now. Would have been nice if they did it going after Dr Who fans rather than milking existing ones but the end result is the same for me. They will make a killing off Dr Who fans once it is released, especially the new mod. It makes me wonder if they will release the Dr Who mod separate like they did Ghost Busters.

credit where credit is due.

Way to go on the new tiers, Farsight. I am 110 % sure that this will get us over the top.

I was also pretty sure that I would stay at 25$ this time but the 2 season pro passes for another 60$ is too good to say no to. It is always nice to contribute a little, but this time I actually feel like I am getting something back, which is extra nice :)

Bumping up, baby!

I'm with you Karl, a season pass is too good to pass up. Good job Farsight! 10x 7.99$ for every Pro Table that I pick up anyway comes out at around 80 dollars anyway. So I upped from 15 to 50 earlier, now at 85. The only thing I'm a bit worried about is how they will handle an iOS season pass, because those were disabled per Apple Store regulations. Apple states that they won't allow sales of content that has not yet been produced (presumably to protect customers, which is not that bad in itself). Will they do that at a per table basis? Maybe a download code/coupon? Has there been any changes to Apple policy?

Actually, each Pro Pass is around $40/platform/season, so the two pro passes by themselves are typically worth $80.

And iOS season passes aren't disabled. You're just not allowed to ask for them before customers know what they're getting. For example - you can buy season passes for seasons 1-4 (they stopped selling them before during season 3) because all the tables in all the season passes are known. When Season 5 is complete, you can buy the season 5 season pass/pro pass as well.

But Farsight has another way to unlock tables and that's through your Farsight/Pinball Arcade (Pinball Analytics) account - when you log in, you unlock everything you own. For Season 6 passes, that just means when the app logs you in, it says you have a season pass. It's just that since it wasn't purchased through Apple, Apple has no record of it and you will not only have to recover your purchases, but log into your Farsight/Pinball Arcade account to unlock those as well.

It's done like it always is - kickstarter table purchases are tied to your Farsight account. It's also how purchases from the Free version of TPA get into the Paid version of TPA - as long as you use the same Farsight Account on both, the two games will sync up on purchased tables.

The only time Farsight gives codes out is for the console versions of TPA where neither Sony nor Microsoft allow access to external resources like that, so Farsight can't simply flip a few bits on their servers and give it to you for free.

And yes, in theory, Farsight could use it to take payment for TPA instead of using Apple/Google Play/Amazon/Steam/etc to save the 30-50%+ those stores take, but it's a lot more work and the payment back ends and handling refunds and customer service complaints, etc., would just take away valuable developmental resources (and not save much money in the end - the time and effort to develop a secure payment processing backend, handling chargebacks and other issues including ongoing security can easily take a dedicated developer and customer support person. Better to just farm it out to people who do it for a living - Apple/Google/Amazon/Valve and let them worry about it.)

I got the newsletter - but nothing new on Facebook. Come on FS!!!! make the most of social media and the tools available. Their PR department has always been in the dark ages.

I think you are a little too negative here. Facebook will come and they have done a lot this time to ensure that the kickstarter will make it.

He man, thanks for the clarification! Because I want tables the moment they come out, I normally won't wait for season passes. I did buy a Season 2 season pass before they got disabled. So I actually pay the full pro price for each table separately, so it feels like I get my money's worth with this tier. I don't play on another platform (although I have it installed on my PC just to see some tables in full graphics glory) so the second pass is not that interesting to me. I now remember I had earlier KS tables unlock for me as well with logging in, so I get how they would do this.

Woah, how did we get to 50k so fast? This is amazing, it's actually going to happen.

By the way, how do I get into Doctor Who? Where should I start watching the series?

I really hate the layout of Kickstarter's site. Having higher tiers include "everything above PLUS" gets very confusing and messy. I also don't like how you have to back something before you can comment. Anyway, with the introduction of the new tiers my interest has been piqued but I have some questions. EXACTLY what does the $100 tier include? Am I correct that it includes the following:

-Being listed as a Gold backer.
-Addams Family Gold. (on how many platforms?)
-Two Season 6 PRO Passes (Is Amazon Kindle one of the options? I would want it on both Steam (PC) and Amazon Kindle (Android). Also, will this be unlocked at the beginning of Season 6?)
-Entry into the exclusive backer tournament.
-Dr Who custom balls (on how many platforms?)
-Four copies of the UPDATED Dr Who table. (Are extra copies giftable?)
-Four copies of the PRO Dr. Who table. (Are extra copies giftable? Are these four in addition to the two copies that would be included with the two Season 6 PRO Passes? (meaning you would get 6 copies total of this table)

Well, those are my questions. The two Season 6 PRO passes and little bit extra for the Addams Family gold are potentially tempting me. I'm not really sure why, as I don't really care for the Addams Family table. "The Power" just ruins my enjoyment of it. I also don't play the mobile (Amazon/Android) version much anymore either. Still, depending on the answers to my questions, I might be convinced to back as much as the $100 tier.

Don't get put off by the Power. You essentially have two ways of bypassing it:
- disable it from the operator's menu (but kill any Leaderboard chances as this will void access)
- just control the ball and let it time out. It's only active during Seance, which doesn't yield near enough points to play that mode, and during MB.

As far as getting TAF Gold when you already have TAF: I thought it was worth it because of the small ROM differences (some extra DMD graphics and shout-outs, a few different scoring rules), they were fun to explore. It's has the potential to score a bit higher than TAF with the same gameplay because Mansion progress is quicker, MB Jackpots scale higher and there are some extra bonus points to be had here and there. Don't do it for the gold trim though, I thought somebody had relieved himself on the carpet of the bookcase......In the end it was also surely my completist personality that played a part :)

And I concur that Farsight in their enthousiasm have not made very clear how to interpret some tiers. I chalked that up to being a non-native English speaker at first but I guess somebody from Maryland doesn't have that excuse! :)

I don't want to disable The Power from the operator's menu or use the custom ball because they disable the leaderboards. I hadn't thought about letting it time out. I'm not sure how easy that would be during multi-ball. That's where I really have trouble with it. I don't tend to have as much trouble with it during Seance. Thanks for the suggestion. I think the biggest reason I'd consider getting TAF Gold is because I too am a bit of a completionist.

You can't time out The Power in Seance just by holding the ball on the flipper and letting the timer count down. Eventually the timer will stop, and you have to register a switch hit to get it to restart. Usually my favored method is to hold the ball on the right flipper, because that gives a more powerful and slightly less forgiving shot up the Bear Kick ramp. In Seance is always feeds to the mini flipper, so with a bit of luck you get the ball into the swamp for a safe swamp kickout. The only truly safe shot though is left flipper -> swamp (bottom entrance) because the swamp kickout isn't affected by the Power, but that's a very difficult shot.

Oh yeah, I remember now, it stops about three times in Seance between switches. I still time the Power out and make a ramp and try to control the ball on the left flipper with a nudge. In MB I let one ball go, and position the other two balls one 1 flipper each. Then I backhand the right ball towards the right upper flipper for a multiple jackpot shot, and shoot the bookcase with the left to light the jackpots again.
