One big difference between Earthshaker and Whirlwind is that you only can get one jackpot per multiball in Earthshaker, whereas Whirlwind has the million plus ramp.
I'd think the two machines would complement each other well.

I love whirlwind. Plunked many quarters into that machine as a "yute"

My biggest memory of Earthshaker was the shaker motor. It was the first pin I played that had one. Maybe I'll have my wife shake my ipad while I play. ;)

Unfortunately I'm not married so I can't get the "shaken iPad effect" unless.......no, not going there. ;-)

So pumped for Earthshaker.

I've played WOZ a few times. While it's beautiful looking, Joe Balcer is not a great playfield designer. I swear they attached ball saves to the outlanes because they might as well have a vacuum cleaner connected to them as well. What a drainer.

Earthshaker and Whirlwind are to blame for truly getting me into pinball back in '91. We had both at the arcade I worked at for a time. I've played both machines IRL recently, and Earthshaker kicks my butt every time. I do find both tables to be very similar, but the middle flipper shot on ES seems so much more unforgiving than the one on WW. Be interesting to see if that changes in TPA.

I've played Earthshaker a few times, but I don't really remember it. Whirlwind is one of the tables that hooked me on pinball, so if it's similar to that it should be a keeper :)

I remember ES as being a very fun table. Not my favorite from that era, but up there. Gimme Shelter!

Yes. There's a ton of stuff on that table too. It's kind of overwhelming.

WW was released a year later, which means it's better.

To PC users...
Does the "shaker motor effect" slow down the ball in the game ?
