Lets get this puppy back on topic. I've never played "El Dorado", and I hope it's not as boring as most say it is.

I quite like El Dorado: City of Gold, but I am a fan of older table and the more drop target the better can usually be a good thing. From the number of times this layout has been used it was obviously a popular one, and it provides a good challenge to play. I can totally Grok the criticism about the playfiels art, it is rather busy, and the SFX are bit on the dull side, but when it comes to pure pinball it doesn't get much purer than this.

Yeah, I agree about the artwork for sure. I much prefer the original in that regard. Love the layout though.

Come on guys, back on topic.

Max out your bonus and knock down all the top targets ASAP. Your bonus will be held FOR THE REST OF THE GAME. The lower 5 targets raise your bonus multiplier up to 3x, so your bonus will be 570,000. DON'T TILT!

And that's just one of the things needed for a good score.

Once again, my moderation posts are not up for debate and if anyone doesn't agree with the laxed unwritten rules we have on this forum, please refrain from posting here. Only members of the moderation team know what we have to put up with behind closed doors with backlash from certain members, so no one has justification to debate our moderation decisions.

The only reason I make my moderation posts public is so that the rest of the members of this forum will know what kind of behavior we will not tolerate on the forum. Also, we do allow everyone to openly voice their opinions (that's what most of the posts on this forum are...opinions), but abusing the privilege to post on this forum and interact with FarSight employees is unacceptable.

FYI, I find absolutely no enjoyment in banning members which is why I rarely do it (my track record below proves my point). I'd rather just give them a public warning and allow them the chance to correct their behavior and continue participating on the forum.

I've only banned 10 users since becoming a moderator and I've posted the breakdown below :

7 users for product spamming
1 user for continuous requests for information on how to pirate The Pinball Arcade
1 user for making public derogatory remarks towards the moderation team
1 user for creating a new account after being banned for one of the above reasons

Again, please do not debate or respond to this post.

Terrible table. Firepower is worse though due to it´s horrible sound.
They say opinions are personal and you cannot have a wrong opinion... but man, this post is flat-out wrong. Over to the Pinball Hall of Shame for you, along with Hard Bodies and Striker Xtreme.

I quite like it, in my opinion there is no such thing as a bad pinball, apart from maybe Central Park :). Tables like El dorado are good fun for quick short bursts of play, and TZ, RBION are great for an extended play. Sometimes I want to watch a movie, sometimes I just want to watch a TV programme, same thing applies to pinball if you catch my metaphor.

The only reason I hate Central Park is those in/out/in lane things piss me off. I'm sure if I'd played it as a kid the nostalgia would mean I'd really dig it.

Agreed. By the way, I think you'll hate Ace High even more ;)

No sub forum for this yet? Well I'm sure it'll be here soon.

I really like this table. Clearing the top bank is a challenge.

Target shooters are the most challenging tables. Think about it, most ramp shots are predictable in how they send the ball back to the flipper, either back to the inlane on a rail or roll down from a loop or something. This especially true in virtual pinball. Hitting drop targets make the ball "pinball" around the table. And hey, pinball is what it's all about, right?

I played free on ipad and my opinion is meh so far. When two banks of drop targets are the only thing to aim for then that kills it for me. Unless there is more depth than meets they eye in which case I'll have to wait another two months to find out when it comes out for the triple.

And the upper flippers are a death sentence...

love the old tables that`s what I was brought up on.we have 41 tables wow, some galahs out there should be grateful that we have such a variety of tables. before my mother passed away after battling cancer for 20 years she would always say these 3 things 1. appreciate what we have. 2. there is always someone worse off than us. 3. if you haven`t got something nice to say , then say nothing at all !!!

Just like Genie, this completely underwhelmed me at first, but I am now absolutely hooked. I guess I'm a sucker for drop targets and cheap drains.

goo_back, here already was one guy who told one same idea in every topic - bad things happened to him.
dont like old tables? PLAY MODERN ONES !! - tpa have tables of different types, so everyone can find something for him. when you demanding to not release old SS or EM only because you dont love them - it is atleast..hmm..not so smart.
Sorry but it is a strange answer. Or a "not so smart" answer. If poeple are free to play the table they want, at this time they are not free to buy the table they want, that is the main problem, nothing else. I have launched a thread on this because I read this often. And I think more and more poeple skip their turns on some packs because of this. Facebook page shows this.
I will not say that poeple who like eldorado are crazy, only that I really don't like this kind of table. And I think that a majority of poeple too. And it is probably why Farsight has decided to sell the old and the new table in the same pack. Before, it was separate.

As a fan of droptargets I quite like this table.
The art probably works better in large format, now it makes it hard to get a clear wiew of the upper row of droptargets. The ruleset is very shallow. For now it feels refreshing in a strange way, but will the table really hold up?
Nice flow.

try think harder because only one thing which facebook show - that few moaners everytime think what they are majority of people - and as you can see in answers here - most of people "is ok" with oldschool tables come time to time.
