Why don't the monsters on the bumpers giggle like the aliens in Attack from Mars. If I remember the original they were rubbery and giggled when the moved.

In Scared Stiff, the Leapers at the slingshots originally jumped up. You might have played a prototype Scared Stiff, this never appeared in any production version; people do mod their machines to enable this though.

No, they were of a rubbery material, you could actually buy them as finger puppets in toy stores, I don't remember the brand. The arms would wiggle when the bumpers were hit.

Rich, are you talking about Elvira and the Party Monsters and the boogie monsters shoved on top of the two shafts?

The reason why the Boogie Men don't wiggle is that they weren't coded to do so (the animation of the AFM martians needed to have a few frames rapidly moving to make them look like they were wiggling). This table was produced well before AFM was, which is why it doesn't feature the animation.

It would be cool if FarSight went back and animated the Boogie Men.

Thank you boys.

Yeah, I meant jiggle or wiggle. Yeah, I get that they were not coded to do so but I wondered why because when I remember it that was the funny quality to the game. They just seem wooden in the game.

I played it IRL long time ago. Also had one or two of those rubber puppets myself. You could stick them on the back of a pencil. They jiggled in Elvira and the Party Monsters when they moved up and down

Yeah, that's what they were, pencil toppers. The ones on the bumpers at the bottom would jiggle as well it was a funny quality. Maybe it is just too hard to do the physics.

Some things seems to be unemulated. Backglass of Black Hole should spin on the real machine.
I gave the pencil toppers to my son some years ago. I'll ask him to look for them so I can post a piccie here :)
