Farsight Studios closing?

I just read that Farsight’s social spokesperson (among many other things) Mike Lindsey is among most of the FS staff being laid off. I know TPA hasn’t been relevant in a while, but if this is the end, it’s still a sad day.

Did Farsight ever make anything substantial beyond TPA? Last things I've ever seen from them was some very cheesy party games.

News to me, as this forum doesn't get frequented nearly as often as it once was. My condolences to those affected, if true (source, please?).

They built a few bowling games, as well as billiards, cornhole, and pickleball, of all things.

All that said, it makes me wonder what will happen to TPA/SPA on the storefronts going forward.

They made a great game and helped contribute to keeping pinball alive. Losing the rights was devastating, as they wouldn't be able to remaster what they had done, if they chosen to do so. Most of their other releases were not good. Regardless, it is unfortunate they are going away.

I can only hope this means Gottlieb rights are going to be available for a plucky Zaccaria to purchase access to.

Did it mention anything about the authentication servers i.e. will people still be able to play TPA on the various platforms?

It seems like you can't download any tables through the app on android or amazon. It just gets stuck at the downloading screen. Anyone else having this problem?

No, but I’ve made it on my iPad that it won’t temporarily remove TPA if I need the space. It now does say “Devices compatibility fixes coming soon” on the sale & free tables screen. Honestly, at this point it would not surprise me if TPA becomes incompatible with the next Apple iOS upgrade.
