Hellraiser and its sequels are fantastic for the most part. The Shining is hard to top but doesn't scream Halloween to me (nobody in crazy costume/makeup). The Tim Burton Legend of Sleepy Hollow was pretty decent as well. Not scary but a good film for the season.

I realized I totally ruined your thread.

As weird as it may sound, the Michael Jackson short film Ghosts has some really good effects and dance scenes as you'd expect from him. Fantastic makeup.

The baby alien is a little too cute to be scared of though. I kinda just wanna hug it. Look at it! Who cares if he bursts out of chests, that little guy is adorable.

Glad you mentioned sleepy hollow. I absolutely love that movie. It does have the Halloween vibe. It's one of those the Chris walkin is freaky as all get out. And he doesn't even dance. Isn't he supposed to do that with every movie?

You're right, he's so cute. Looks like my 2 year old son in the morning.

Do you realize Halloween does not exist AT ALL in France ?

Btw, you're fine dedpop. It's meant for discussion. I'm sure your gifs will spark something. I've never even seen the shining. I know I know. When I was a kid, my sis had a bunch of her friends over to watch it. I busted in and made fun of it. And got kicked out shortly after. To this day, I've never seen the shining all the way through. Disappointing, but I only have myself to blame for that.

I did not realize that! But it's not a big deal since us 'older' fellas don't experience holidays in the same way kids would. Hence why I started a Halloween movie thread. Because that's all we can do is watch movies. Well unless you have kids. Is there a holiday in France around this time that I don't know about? Well, it's not like I'm playing up 'trick or treating'. I'm a curious individual

Yes. We're in holidays since today for two weeks here. I don't know how to say it but Halloween does not fit in the "latin" culture.
I really like it. But nobody cares about it here.

Like I said though, the only people who are going to get anything out of it are kids. But for us adults, watching horror flicks are a staple in this time. What's your holiday in France?
