Flipper mechanics in whirlwind!

I just noticed something that I haven't overheard or seen anyone talk about before and it really just impressed the crap out of me when it caught my attention. After rebuilding the right flipper leaf switches in whirlwind I noticed that I can press down the right flipper button with a ever so slight amount of pressure and it will only set off the bottom flipper and then in multiball I can cradle a ball with the right flipper while still shooting the million shot with the top right flipper just by ever so slightly adding more pressure, its kind of a tricky shot but it has proven to be effective in controlling the multiballs on WW. Anyway out of curiosity I opened up WW on TPA (thanks) and I then started messing with the right trigger button on my controller and sure enough you guys at farsight nailed it and I can do the same thing on the simulation (unless your using digital buttons with no variable pressure sensors like a keyboard or an alternate button config, obviously you gotta have the right hardware.),, I'm not sure why this impresses and excites me so much but it does and so I say thank you guys for your attention to detail, little things like this is why I love this game as much as I do!

Oh, it was talked about plenty of years ago when it was first implemented. Because at the time, it was implemented wrong. FS originally had it where you had to press the triggers really hard to activated the lower flippers. A lot of people complained that the flippers were laggy, but in reality, they were just nonreactive.

There's also an option in the menu to turn the dual stage flippers off as well.

Well its being talked about again now but instead of reminiscing on farsight's wrong doings of the past I am complimenting the good job that they are doing now with their very well tuned "dual stage" flippers that feel to me more or less exactly like the real one in my garage that doesn't include an option to turn dual stage off as its physically not possible without rebuilding the flipper leaf switches in a different manner. no software option I guess is what im saying for really no reason at all other than sometimes when people do a good job at something they should be told so and not have to judge their success by how many haters they have.

It's actually a credit to FS for implementing it so right that most people don't notice it. As it should be.

indeed, I honestly would have never noticed if I didn't get the idea to go and look for it after seeing it irl, that's a good perspective I like that.
