Full Screen

We know that Fullscreen doesn’t work on some PC’s, but would like to know if it does work on others. A report of which resolution set the game to and what resolution their desktop is, along with if it crashed or not would be useful.

Also, if it does crash when you change settings (like full screen), to fix that delete your save file. To do that, delete all files in their Pinball Arcade folder inside My Games.

On Win 7 it’s in C:\Users\username\My Games\Pinball Arcade\

Win XP I think it’s in C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Games\. But I don’t have an XP computer to check.

2560x1600 desktop (main), in-game 1920x1200, full screen crashes.

It's 3-display configuration, 2 x 1920x1200 are on the sides in the portrait mode.

Windows 7, 64-bit, GeForce GTX 690.

Windows 8 Pro, 64-Bit, NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450, 1920x1080.

I switched the game to full screen immediately and have had zero problems thus far.

(Custom PC) Core i7 3770, 16GB Ram, Windows 7 Pro x64, NVidia GeForce GTX 670, 1366x768. Started in a window that was off the screen, was able to bring it down to set it to FS @ 1920x1080 and it's fine now.

I can't get a true fullscreen to work at all. Every time I start the game it runs in a window that I have to drag down, but I still have the bar on the top and the taskbar on the bottom. Even if I change the option to fullscreen and restart, it still starts in a window.

Specs: Windows 7 64-bit, Core i7 @ 2.80 ghz, 8 GB RAM, AMD Radeon 6700 w/ 1 GB RAM. 1920X1080 resolution.

Editing post: My issue with it not switching to fullscreen is a bigger problem than that-- the high scores, goals, and options are not saving on exit. Since switching to fullscreen requires a restart and the options aren't saving for me, it defaults back to windowed every single time I open the program.

2nd edit: I found a workaround-- I found the .exe for Pinball Arcade and changed it in the properties to "Run As Administrator". This enabled saving and allowed me to use full screen, which works fine.

Representing lower end hardware right now since there are plenty of high end hardware machines already being reported.

Full Screen works on my PC with GeForce 9800 GT.
Resolution 1280 x 1024.
Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

OS Version: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1
Graphics Card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 650
CPU: AMD FX-8350 Eight Core @ 4.00GHz
Ram: 16GB
Version #0.007
Display Mode: Fullscreen
Display Resolution: 1920x1080

Frequency of Occurrence: Constant

Expected Result: Fullscreen display

Actual Result: Started off OK, but I have a dual-monitor configuration and activity on the second monitor caused the Pinball Arcade to minimize,
and then resulted in a black screen with a white border when I attempted to maximize the game again.

Comment: Game appeared to still be running for a time as music and attract mode callouts could be heard, but both stopped after a few seconds.
Game refused to exit and had to be force terminated.

I can't seem to run full screen at my 1366x768 native/desktop resolution. The only available options for me are 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768. Does not crash when changing to those resolutions.

GPU: Radeon HD 4670 w/ 512MB RAM. VGA output at 1366x768 (primary), desktop extended via HDMI output at 1280x720 (only using for audio, 2007-era TV won't run at native resolution over HDMI)
CPU: i5 4670 w/ 16GB RAM
OS: Windows 8 Pro with Media Center 64 bit
I'm not sure what version of TPA I'm running because the numbers are cut off by the bottom edge of the screen.

EDIT: Just had a thought. 1280x720 is not a valid resolution on this TV on the VGA input. Could TPA have not checked if 1366x768 was available because of that?

Full screen works for me.

Win 8 Pro, 64-Bit
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
1920 x 1080
Intel Core2 Duo @ 3 GHz and 4 gb RAM

That being said, I can't seem to exit the game!

Windows 7, x64, 1280x2014, Radeon HD 6870

Restarting into full-screen mode just produces a white display. I can use the arrow keys to select menu options (I hear the chimes) but clicking anywhere or hitting enter causes a crash

Any way to get it back in windowed mode so I can keep testing?

EDIT: okay, the problem is apparently my dual display. I'm going to write up a formal bug report now that I know what's wrong

First of all: Great job. I haven't seen any PS3/360 in action, and compared to Android, this looks fantastic. Looking forward to more dynamic lightning.

However, fullscreen crashes on startup.

Windows 7 x86
GeForce GTX 670
16GB RAM

v0.007

Desktop Resolution: 2560x1600
Fullscreen Resolution: 1920x1080

MemLog: http://pastebin.com/jz7iQian

Cheers!

EDIT: Running dual monitor, second at 1920x1200.

Fullscreen works when displayed on my 1280x1024 monitor (set to 1280x1024 in-game).

It doesn't work on my 1360x768 HDTV (set to 1280x720 as no native option is available), which is set up as a second (extended) display.

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 768MB
RAM: 4GB

You might want to consider removing the "Select" button in Options>Display. Since you can change the settings by clicking on the arrow next to each option and since there is also a "Back" button, some people (like me) may think that the Select button locks in your choices while the Back button cancels them. As opposed to the way it really works, where Select also changes the setting on the selected option and Back locks them in. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get any of my settings to stick. I almost reported it as a bug. :)

My secondary PC is on a standard monitor running a Radeon 5870, Windows 8.1 Pro Preview and a lot of things are not right on the screen. 1280x1024 FS on the table selection screen the Table Goals is slightly off the screen. On the actual table screen the Game Setup, Start and Table Menu options are up higher and the back button is almost touching the Game Setup button on the bottom left corner. It doesn't detract from the gameplay, just looks goofy. In 1024x768 FS the logo is pretty distorted at startup, but the Table Goals is on the screen correctly. The Game Setup/Back buttons looks the same as my 1280x1024 experience, though.

It does play well, though, so only a minor annoyance.
