It should be easy enough if you take your time, just remove the backglass, label up and unplug any connectors, undo and remove the bolts holding the head to the metal hinges and lift it off. Sounds easy put like that but if you take your time and label everything with stickers it shouldn't be too bad. You may even have a few large connectors in the wiring looms so all you have to do then is unplug them instead of disconnecting from the boards in the backbox. Take a few photo's at ever stage too for reference if it will help you. It definitely will come off though, and if you want it upstairs you may as well spend the time doing it.

Arrrgh, my friend was over last night and helped me shift everything around downstairs. I actually made a decent amount of room for it. I think at this point I'll wait and see how it looks when it's in. The only reason I didn't want it down there is because I didn't want to do all the reorg stuff (I HATE change ;)...but now that its done I'll check it out. But if I don't like it you can bet I'll be trying this at some point!

Its definitely doable it just sounds complex but its really easy! the plugs only go to each other and there colord so obviously a plug with orange yellow and purple dont go to blue white and black:p once you start hooking some up it basically takes care of itself. heres some confidence for ya!http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/remove-head-or-scrounge-a-friends-truck

GREAT link! Thanks! If it comes to that, it doesn't seem so bad. Hopefully the machine is new enough ('96) that they've colour coordinated everything :)

Felt a little off at first. The machine was definitely cold from the move. The centre target didnt feel as responsive as before, so I took off the glass and pushed it a few times until it was operating normally.

But I'm happy to report everything is working perfectly! LOVE the light show. I will get some vids up soon

Yeah I figured. Once it did it was working perfectly. Room is about 73 degrees. But I'm not leaving it on at all. My plasma is indirectly infront of it and reflects the entire translite image when it's on

Congrats on your first Pinball machine. I am sure it will bring you countless hours of fun. I am starting to wonder how many on this forum have bought their first machine in 2012? Must be at least 5 of us by now. The only problem I have is that I all ready want another one :)

So I found a flasher that has a bulb out I never noticed before. I also want to change that standup target in the centre of the second pic, as I think it may be a bit glitchy, and I'd prefer the blue one.

But I have no clue how to change it. From what I read it supposed to be super easy, but it looks hard to get at underneath. It's buried under a bunch of wires. Any help would be great :)

Currently only the playfield lights are all LED's. I'm going to be changing all of the GI lights to LED's as well (driving to the store today). But those lights look much harder to take out than the PF ones. This is gonna take some time.

So before I go, what kinds of tools will I need for these jobs?

Oh and to change the rubbers on the flippers (they're fine, I just want brand new ones), is there anything special I need to do? Or can I just take the old ones off and put new ones on?
