Hahah, that was too good!
Lotsa those would make neato pins
2 out of 30 so far. I vote for a Prince pinball next. Plenty of scope for toys.

I think Neil Young is Canadian. But that's close enough in my book. (North America)
Good point, but... he's lived in the US since around 1967. I consider him US/Canadian. He's more American than the Jimi Hendrix Experience, depending on how much you weight the non-Jimi members of that group .I think Neil Young is Canadian. But that's close enough in my book. (North America)
I'm a huge Stones fan, but I actually prefer the DEVO version of Satisfaction.
The quirky oddness of it calls to me.
Yes! Probably the most underrated artists of all time. The second-best live act ever, after only James Brown.
Here are the greatest American bands ever:
1. Husker Du
2. X
3. Sly & the Family Stone
4. R.E.M.
5. Talking Heads
6. James Brown and the J.B.'s
7. Neil Young & Crazy Horse
8. Sonic Youth
9. Nirvana
10. Devo
11. Prince & the Revolution
12. The Velvet Underground
13. The Jimi Hendrix Experience (more American than British)
14. Ramones
15. The Beach Boys
16. The Byrds
17. Yo La Tengo
18. Public Enemy
19. The Doors
20. Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band
21. Pixies
22. Creedence Clearwater Revival
23. The Replacements
24. Television
25. Pavement
26. Metallica
27. Big Star
28. Aerosmith
29. The Band
30. Guns n' Roses
Honorable mentions:
Soundgarden
Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Pearl Jam
Buddy Holly & the Crickets
Wilco
The Pretenders (maybe should be about #25)
The Go-Go's
Iggy & the Stooges
Cheap Trick
I hate Aerosmith. Post-1988 Aerosmith is yucky awful. But their handful of big 1970's hits & album tracks is hard to deny.OK list but Aerosmith ? Really ?

Point taken, though. Maybe I should spend more time on this... I'm not completely familiar with every band I listed.
Well it's not -totally- a taste thing. Pretty much all notable critics give Rocks & Toys in the Attic very high ratings, and pretty much everything after Pump that very low ratings. (I don't get the love for Pump, even though I was the target audience, being an 18-yo white guy when it was released.)I'm totally with you. Like two totally different bands. They sort of lost me after Draw The Line. Still a fun live show if they are in your area though. Just a taste thing I guess, I also know people that only like the newer Aerosmith stuff.

Also I'd be very interested in seeing your list (or anyone's)...OK list but Aerosmith ? Really ?

Just a short list so .
