Figured it would be good if people, as and when they discover a useful app, post up and share.
Always good to swap notes on this, as generally some of the really great apps pass us by.

I'll start the ball rolling with this one I've just come across.
GMD hide soft keys * Root (Root is Required) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.hidesoftkeys
This hides the Navbar for Nexus devices freeing up screen real estate. I've been using full!screen+ to do the same job, but it has stopped working with various apps (Zen mainly) and despite emailing the dev, he says there is nothing he can/will do. So this acts as an even better replacement IMO.
Also...
Auto Screen On by Dougi Hsu (No Root Required) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.omd.autoscreenon
This I've been using for a while - it basically wakes the device either by you waving your hand near the proximity sensor, or by shaking the gyros.
As my phone sits on my work desk, streaming music, this saves me wearing out the power button with the 100 wakes a day I probably do when I should be working.
