I just recently got a pair of Sony 3D glasses and monitor, I would really love to play this game in 3D. At this point, non of the Pinball games I have offer 3D - TPA, ZEN, MARVAL, or PINBALLISTIK.

iirc Zen Pinball 2 will have 3d support... and there's always TPA on 3ds

3D would be extremely cool. It would really be icing on the cake. Hell, I don't even have a 3D tv and think it would be sick. There are several issues with that idea though. The 3D tv market is pretty small, and hasn't really caught on like the industry thought it would. There's little incentive to put that much time into developing for 3D tv's...look at how many console games are released in 3D....(no offense- just trying to be logical).

Furthermore, let's look at the 3D games that ARE available right now...you mentioned a few games in another post- I was going to post in that thread, but this thread seems like a better place. 1st thing's first- I agree! It would be awesome! Second, to be honest I'm pretty jealous you got to play Killzone 3 in 3D. I bet that was really cool. But, there's a decent amount of extra cost that goes into engineering the game for that option. So...let's look closely at those games...notice anything similar about all of those games?

-Resistance 3: developed by Insomniac Games, published by Sony.

-Crysis 2: developed by Crytek, published by Electronic Arts.

-Killzone 3: developed by Guerrilla Games, published by Sony

-Hustle Kings: developed by VooFoo studios, published by Sony

4/5 of the above mentioned games were backed by Sony, who was able to probably pour in quite a large sum of money in order to get the game ready for the newest 3D tv's. Sony has several motives for promoting 3D games, but I won't go into that here. The only other publisher up there that isn't Sony is Electronic Arts. Electronic Arts reported a revenue in 2011 of ~$3.8 billion. I've no doubt that they are able to pour extra money into a 3D project or 5.

Let's add another game:
-Zen Pinball 2...will have 3D....notice, however, that for the PS3 release, it is published by Sony....hm.....

Tables with an option for anaglyph stereoscopic 3D on a regular tv might be interesting...no idea how feasible that is, or how well it would work....this is getting beyond the realm of my current knowledge.

I picked up the Sony 3D Display for 300 bucks. It is only a 24 inch screen and does not come with a remote. It came with a racing game, a pair of glasses, and an HDMI cable. MBL THE SHOW game and another pair of glasses were given as free gifts. I use the screen as a monitor for my PC (MIND YOU 3D WILL NOT WORK WITH NVIDA GPUs) and for the PS3. I had a PS Remote so that was not an issue.

Many older games such as both GOD OF WARs for the PSP were recently redone in HD with added 3D support for the PS3 ... so was SLY COOPER .... at my last count, there are over 40 games offering 3D and I am having a lot of fun checking them all out ... only had the screen less than a week now.

3D may not be a big deal when it comes to TVs, but once you play a video game in 3D, ITS HARD TO GO BACK TO 2D, 3D is just so immersing and believe it or not, I have not even started playing RESISTANCE 3 or KILLZONE 3, so I still have something to look forward to.

I am no tech guru, but it seems to me a 3D effect can be blanketed on to a game without much trouble otherwise why would Sony make older 2D games 3D, it is not like anyone who already has the game will buy it just because it is now 3D, and these remakes sell at a lot less then when the original game came out.

Although there not even a handful of simul view games out, I did check it out on Stardust HD - 3D, and it worked like a charm! ... you both see your own screen, no split screens, although, you both see your screen in 2D. But to me, having my own screen and no split screen is awesome!

Interesting- didn't know they were re-releasing old games in 3D.

You have to remember though- Sony DOES have a motive for re-releasing old games in 3D: they want to sell more 3D tv's!

Agreed on the split screen tech- when I first saw that I thought it was really damn neat. Local multiplayer of the future, I think.

I feel very lucky, I only became a PS3 owner in Dec of 2011 and I must admit, I have not touched my Wii since. I got a slew of old games such as God of War 1, Resistance 1, Crisis 1, Ratchet and Clank and the list goes on and on and they are all NEW to me and they were all so cheap! Many I got used and may I downloaded.

here is the most complete list of 3D games for the PS3

There are a handful of games that have anaglyph 3D. Skate 2 is one. It is actually a "cheat" code to start anaglyph 3D mode. As far as anaglyph is concerned it was done pretty well for Skate 2 but, at least for my eyes, anaglyph creates eye strain after 20 or 30 minutes. I believe that it is fairly easy to convert a game to 3D but the problem that I see is getting it to run smooth enough. There are some tables that slow down or get choppy during multi-ball when a lot of things are going on at once. FS will need to fix those issues before they could successfully run in 3D.

To do 3D, we would probably need to run at 30fps, because you have to render the scene twice. Pinball is hard to play at 30fps, vs 60.

We discussed supporting 3D awhile back, but I think it's been a low priority. So I'm not sure if we will end up doing it or not.

I did see a really cool TV at E3 last week. It was 3D without glasses (similar to a 3DS screen, but 32 inches). And it supported up to 8 cameras, so 4 people could see in 3D at the same time, and see a completely different scene. I don't think the current generation consoles are powerful enough yet, but in the future it would be cool to play local multiplayer where each person has their own view on the same TV. Although, then I won't be able to look at my friends side and see where he's at...

Perhaps with the next generation of machines, a patch for 3D, at least in single player mode might be possible as the consoles will be getting stronger and capable of more processing power. It certainly would be nice to see it one day down the line when technology supports it more easily.

MLB 12 looks and plays like a really great game, my problem is, I do not know the ins and outs of baseball and feel a little lost with it ... I do not know if it offers voice chat while playing, but if it does, I would like to play a game with you and you could school me a little on it so I would know what the hell I was doing.

I'd love to. Unfortunately my Internet connection is pretty lame where I live now (I only have 3G so it's a lag fest), but I'm going to be moving in August, so let's plan on it then. It really is a great game.

judging by your post you have xboxlive gold right?

you can get a mlb.tv app for xbox...

you need a mlb subscription to see all the games, but you do get a free game of the day (live and then recorded) and free match recaps... more of both if you check out the archives...

all streamed in full hd

and no its not region locked...

well at least here in Slovenia (Europe) ;)

I just checked out information from your competition, Zen Pinball, and in Zen 2, there will be a game mode which supports 3D on Active 3D displays (Steriotrophic ... I think is what you really call it) I will have to report back here to let you know what I think of it when it comes out and if I see a noticeable drop in frame rate in that mode. But if they can pull it off and pull it off good, I would like to see FarSight revisit the idea and give the 3D option some serious consideration.
