Currently the Settings menu contains stuff other than settings. This menu has evolved throughout the lifespan of the game into a bit of a dumping ground for stuff that doesn't fit into other parts of the UI.
Lets look at the current state as you scroll down (particularly nasty in Landscape because you only get four items per menu page):
Manage Tables
Controls
Videos
Sound
Our Mission
Mip Mapping
Farsight Credits
Twilight Zone Credits
Star Trek Credits
Terminator 2 Credits
Addams Family Credi <--NOTE: This is not a typo in this post: the text is cut!
Detail
Textures
HoF Points <--or whatever this new menu item is called.
As a user, particularly a new one to the franchise, I would not even know there were rather critical game settings down the bottom of the list.
Ideal Solution
Keep the settings menu to a maximum of five entries. This will look great in portrait and landscape (limited to 5 items visible on any one "page" of the current menu), and will ensure that users see all important root menu options at first glance:
Manage Tables
Sound
Graphics <-- Move all graphics related settings into the sub-menu.
|--Mip Mapping
|--Textures
|--Detail <-- from memory, this item does not display if you don't have a device with correct kernel flags (like most Samsung devices did back in 2012).
Extras <--Move other items that do not directly affect how the game plays to another menu called "Extras" (or another name of your choosing):
|--Our Mission
|--Controls
|--Videos
Credits <-- Move all Kickstarter and Farsight Credits into their own menu. Or you could just group these under the "Extras"
|--Farsight Credits
|--Twilight Zone Credits
|--Star Trek Credits
|--Terminator 2 Credits
|--Addams Family Credi
Less Ideal Workaround Solution
Reorder the list with settings first, other stuff last in order of importance:
Manage Tables
Sound
Mip Mapping
Textures
Detail
HoF Points
Controls
Videos
Our Mission
Farsight Credits
Twilight Zone Credits
Star Trek Credits
Terminator 2 Credits
Addams Family Credi
