I'm an idiot, forgot there are Gottlieb/et al in Pinball Arcade and wasn't even checking my tables. Just saw the big gray buttons that said "Unpurchased". Proceeded to look down. And saw I could download the packs. All SPA tables made the transition flawlessly.

Can I still access the Stern tables (ACDC and Ghostbusters) in PBA if I didn't purchase all of the tables in Stern? I really don't want to spend $30-$40 on tables I don't plan on playing.

Apparently not. What was seemingly explained is that you have to but all of the individual tables in a "Bundle", and then said Bundle becomes downloadable in PBA. I had them all purchased one-by-one and the "Download" button was available for both Stern Packs in PBA.

Aww shucks. Looks like I'll be switching between apps then. I'm curious to how Farsight handles Switch users who downloaded some but not all old version season packs during the 11th hour when they were available. They'll have some of the Williams, some of the Stern, and some of the Gottlieb tables. But you cannot purchase the bundle when you already own a portion of its contents, and you cannot purchase the remaining pieces if they aren't available individually. That, my friends, is called a conundrum. :p

Yeah, obviously Pinball Arcade recognizes what tables you've purchased, it should at least discount the packs to reflect those purchases.

Anyone still playing TPA on Switch? So far, I've bought two of the Gottlieb packs - I play STERN PINBALL on the physical cart so haven't rebought those tables. Wish I could buy the Stern table I'm missing individually. Think it is FLIGHT 2000? I'm really hoping FarSight can somehow lick their wounds and re-emerge to support this game with new tables and quality of life features. Signs don't look promising though as the Switch still hasn't got WHOA NELLIE or the other table it was bundled with on other platforms BIG HUNT? Anyone, got any impressions on the Switch version in its current state and have speculation on where TPA on Switch could go in the future. I also play PBFX3, STERN PINBALL, ZACCARIA PINBALL but still strongly feel their is a place for an evolving and improving THE PINBALL ARCADE on Switch. Sadly, nothing seems to be happening with this game in terms of support from FarSight at present. Will they ever come back to it?

They did mention on a twitch stream recently they were working on a new never released table but thats all the info they gave.. I'm surprised they didn't release both Woah Nellie and Buck Hunter for the switch.. may wanna create a new topic about it.

Myself and others have asked FarSight directly about BBH and WNBJM on Switch in the many months since they came out. They used to say it would be before Christmas. Once the calendar rolled over to 2019, they stopped answering altogether.

Needless to say, a topic about it probably won't accomplish anything.

Oh really? So it is a known 'not happening' then? That sucks. Is THE PINBALL ARCADE essentially a 'frozen' product now, with no expected additions or updates? If that's the case, I wish FarSight would just put out a physical cart and call it Gottlieb Classics Deluxe or something. Kinda takes the wind out my sails buying the remaining digital table packs.

Is this a similar scenario to what happened to TPA on Wii U? It's over before it even ever truly got started? Such a shame as I really like the game and could see a lot of folks playing it on Switch if it was given some attention and love. Many of us Nintendo based players have fond memories of the Wii pinball games from FarSight.

I recently completed my collection of tables for THE PINBALL ARCADE on Nintendo Switch. This meant I could start playing some of the in-game challenges.

I’m playing Gottlieb Challenge 1 and the game has begun to crash-out back to the Switch home menu between rounds. I have archived the software and redownloaded the game and it still gives the ‘software has had to unexpectedly shut down due to an error’ message at least 50% of the time when you click for the next round’s table to be loaded.

Has anyone else played the TPA challenges on Nintendo Switch and have they experienced this auto-software shut down error?

I don’t have any crashes when playing the game in non-challenge modes.

I’m shifting some my ALP play to the Switch OTG. I’m certain the Gottlieb tables look better on Switch and would transition well, minus haptics. FX3 works flawlessly this way.

But I was curious about the lack of development on it. Are the games playable, any issues with bugs that will never be fixed? Are there server access issues?

I’ve only bought one table pack. The graphics are definitely superior to mobile, and while it’s obvious no work is done, the tables seem to play fine.

I have all the tables and from my experience it actually plays really well, I've enjoyed my time with it. That being said I don't necessarily pay too close attention to minor bugs and stuff if it doesn't affect gameplay, but I don't recall ever encountering anything too egregious. I'm not sure about leaderboard stuff, I don't really look at them.

Thanks. I downloaded a few tables in the Stern game, and they play well. Not the happiest with the view, but I can live with it. Now, debating whether to pay to get the TPA Gottliebs. They managed to do pretty well in splitting apart the tables I actually like: Genie, Tee'd Off, Black Hole, even Victory.
