Thinking about buying an iPad Air 2 or maybe the 3 if it comes out in October. I have a mini now and would like the bigger playfield. Does TPA play well with no big issues on the air 2

Thanks gary

I play it on an Air 2, and it plays really good. It looks great and gameplay is smooth. I came from a regular iPad 2 and immediately bettered half of my scores because of improved frame rate and also I think because of better visibility and feeling of depth to the table (making gameplay easier to "see"). No issues beside general ones that affect TPA regardless from platform or all iOS, but I do have a problem with Phantom of the Opera that may affect only 64-bit machines like the Air 2, but then again, not every user with an Air 2 reported the same problem. (Crashes when getting the grand champion score and afterwards can't back up remotely anymore).
Although your upgrade step is smaller than I had, I still would say that you are in for a treat.

I am 63 yrs old and love pinball always have. The only reason I bought the iPad mini 2 was for TPA. Very easy to carry with you. But my eyes aren't as good as they were. I was even thinking about the iPad pro that my be announced on the ninth. I guess the bigger the better. Id love to have a cab but don't have the skills to build or the money to buy.
Thanks for the help. Gary

I'm not sure bigger=better in this case. If it visually helps then that is obviously a plus. But I see two possible negative points. The most problematic would be the increase in distance within the controls. Relative to your hand it would maybe take more movement and time to reach nudge areas in the control scheme. Farsight could adapt this offcourse and maybe it's not that big of an effect but I would certainly want to try before buy on this point. Another point of concern is weight. If they manage to keep that down and stay within the specs of the iPad Air, then it's all good. But just try to pick up an old iPad 2 after playing on an Air and you will quickly want to have less weight. Performancewise I would be very surprised if the new iPad would be actually worse than the Air, even with a bigger screen and possibly higher resolution. Nevertheless, I'm really happy with my iPad Air 2 TPA performance.
