I just hope FarSight uses the exact table itself, as opposed to just running their Pin*Bot build with the Jack*Bot roms. The materials (which had progressed in quality in the near decade between the two tables) and table slope seemed to be a little different than the original.

The casino theme and improved rule sheet, combined with DMD animations and DCS sound (I loved the music on this game) made Jack*Bot worth more than just a second look IMO. I haven't seen this one since 2002-and I'm looking well forward to enjoying it again.

I don't think that is a concern. Obviously the artwork is completely different and while the layout is similar, the positioning and measurements are not 1:1 in every instance. Not to mention there are different bits of lights and toys so dropping I. Different Roms would not be compatible.

I've only played the table a few times so don't recall how different it is but I know I liked it more than Pinbot. But probably not as big a difference in gameplay as Funhouse and Tron Legacy have. But those two tables show how you can have completely different experiences with the same table layout.

There's nothing saying that we have to get a Gottlieb every season. If we do get one I really hope it isn't Gladiators, that has to be the worst table ever. Even the real table can be played forever with the upper loop during multiball.

Season 4 definitely needs a couple more DMD era tables. Four in a season just doesn't' feel like enough.
I enjoy the later era 80's early 90's alphanum tables, but not nearly as much. The Getaway plus something like Tales from the Crypt would fit the bill with Xenon in the middle
