On the flip side, I don't see what people love so much about CFTBL, or at least TPA's re-creation of it--I can't count how many times the ball has struck the post by the Snack Bar, and gotten me an instant center drain. Is it like that on the real machine? I've never found one in the wild.
I don't remember that particular shot, but CftBL is very, very dangerous in real life.

CftBL has seriously amazing art and DMD work, for one thing. All the shots are really fun to make, starting (and re-starting!) multiball is very fun and satisfying, the jackpot progession is exciting (and yes unbalanced). It'd be hard to find a machine that implemented its theme so perfectly. It's very hard to keep balls in play, that's a good thing to good players... I think CftBL appears regularly in tournaments. Oh, the light shows are phenomenal. It's just a real classic, with the score unbalance the only real flaw that I can see.

When CftBL was relatively new, there was one super-close to my main classroom building and I played it tons. I was never any good at it and didn't even score a billion. It was just too hard for me to keep the ball in play.

High Roller Casino is great, I don't get at all why people hate that table to death. It's mostly because of the code, though, the table layout feels a bit gimmicky.
Well, it's ugly as hell, the playfield is one of the ugliest ever. It has no flow. I do like the rules, and it has some fun shots. I'd rate it in the middle overall, but in the lower third of TPA because TPA has much more great tables than overall pinball does :).

HRC jumped up a few spots in my ranking once I started to see the connections between its rule set and the LOTR rule set (one of my most played pins in the real world). I've never seen HRC in the wild but in TPA it's one of my favorites of the no-flow tables.

No surprise there. Every LAH I've ever played had issues (it is a DE after all), but I do like the pin.

It looks nice in TPA, and it seems to play well, but the music puts me to sleep. I'll still keep trying for the goals. Guess "I had to be there" to see what made this good (IMO) game so great.

I'm sure there are people who enjoy this one. In my view, season 5 started off great with TG:HS2 and F14, and has been just okay since F14.

I only played LAH for the first time last year, and both LAHs i've played had working cranes. I like the game, it's a better-than-average DE, and if TPA is a virtual museum then DE needs more representation.

I realize that everyone has different tastes, but I can't see how this Season is "just okay." Dredd, No Fear and Hurricane are two of my most-played tables, R911 is a pretty solid Gottlieb, and all f those were highly-requested. We also got an EM 2-pack that was also in demand. Frankenstein is really the only meh table so far, maybe R911 too (for me, but I don't care for Gots). All-in-all, a really good set of packs that has been filled with wish-fulfillment.

It's simply a matter of opinion, and you do make valid points in this post. I know these tables you list were highly requested, and it's nice to see a Gottlieb table not being panned as much as LCA was. I must also say El Dorado EM was a pleasant surprise for me. I was expecting to dislike that one, given I didn't like City of Gold at all, but found the EM version to be a lot of fun.

Guess I should clarify-When I said "just okay", I meant table choice and execution was solid, but I just don't have as much urge to replay as previous packs. F14 and Getaway brought back many fun memories for me, but I didn't play these other tables as much IRL, so I wasn't as excited. Plus, as nicely done as NF was, I found it just wasn't as exciting as I remember back then. Although I do like having access to these simulations, if only for the continuity.

With so many tables to choose from, everyone is sure to find something they like more than the other ones. I also have a lot of fun guessing what next month's table is going to be. And that's why I will continue to buy season passes and support TPA. If I don't get something I'm too eager to play, I'll still support the app so that someone who does enjoy the tables will get to enjoy their favorite game.

I have a soft spot for mode themed games like LAH. One of the better Data East games IMO. More of a hit than a miss for me by a fair margin.

Downloaded the update and all my tables from season 3, 4, and 5 disappeared.

Also, I can't even download the new table.

I like LAH. It's a decent DE table. But...what's up with the music? The regular gameplay tune is off. It's almost like they mixed around the midi sounds to play in a different order. I'm pretty sure there's some licensed music in this game like Megadeth's Angry Again. Did that get removed too?

This is how it should sound.

Sounds's a bit more muffled than usual too, ain't it? Seems like they didn't do a very good job with the audio this time.

I was surprised when I first found out that farsight records directly off the actual tables to capture all the sounds. That muffled sound is most likely caused by being a second generation (recording) and at the mercy of the original machines audio systems quality and age. I understand that it is technically not feasible to have the ROM play the sounds directly in TPA - something about memory and performance bully... But I would prefer a direct recording off the ROM and not the machine. Listening to the games here with headphones is mostly acceptable but wish it was a whole lot better.

Its what they use to record the sounds off the table.

Yeah, the music is a bit off. Some music is in the wrong places as well (during World Premiere, the music from a different mode plays instead of the music for World Premiere)

Maybe this table could use that an update that fixes those music problems. And adds the match sequence back in!

HRC has no flow in TPA. Because TPA tuned it so poorly. TPA's flippers can't shoot up the middle and can't make a rolling shot to the ramp. And every other shot except the slot machine is too tight: both orbits, and all the standup targets in Craps, Poker, and Roll & Win.

You're supposed to make flow shots to those targets and orbits for the casino games. And you're supposed to have a good chance to regain control after doing so. But Farsight made the flippers and kickers too fast and strong and violent, most notably that extra set of kickers in the lower playfield.

HRC's rules are great, aside from the randomness of the casino games, although the Cheat Game feature exists to help with that (which is enabled from ramp shots which are actually possible to flow and loop on the real machine.) I've played HRC as a real machine quite a bit and like it a lot, probably in Stern's top 5. It's just a shame Farsight tuned it so poorly yielding a result that just isn't fun to play.

(Just realized this is the LAH forum/thread, apologies for the topic drift)
