Sign-ups for the March BlahCade Tournament of the Month are now open. Register here...

http://goo.gl/forms/HTjuvvolUK

You have until Friday at 10pm PDT to do so. If you miss the registration time, you will still be able to post scores on the day of the tournament, Saturday March 28th. Late entries will be used as need on a first come, first served basis to fill in any gaps with table groupings. Last tournament people signed up and then forgot to play, which caused a few issues. Other people missed the sign up completely but wanted to play. Hopefully this fixes both issues.

As a reminder, extra balls are to be plunged, and only two attempts per table. Grouping brackets will be made available prior to the tournament start. One other thing...there will be a random drawing for a free download of TAF courtesy of JoCool who graciously donated to our fun. One name will be drawn from those that post scores. We can't thank him enough, and just one more reason to join in the fun.

Thanks for signing up, spread the word, and we'll see you on Saturday!

I saw that your putting us in groups of four... I missed that in the original blurb. Will you be taking the highest score out of each group for each table or adding them all together? I'd hate to mess up the chance of a group winning since I'm only ranked Gold and most of you guys are in the top ten on most of the tables in TPA.

I'm in :)

Tournament points are assigned per table. 40 for 1st, 30 for 2nd, 20 for 3rd, 10 for 4th. Those points are added up for your final tournament score. Actual table scores are only used to break ties in tournament point totals.

Actually, it breaks down like this...

Within each grouping, 1st place gets 10 points, 2nd 8, 3rd 6, and 4th 4.
With 4 tables being played, top score possible within the tourney is 40 points total.
Ties are broken by looking at top table score or record against other player (if they met in a grouping)

Here's where it gets interesting this go around...

Now that we have a top 10 that makes our "A" group, there will be one placed in each grouping. If we can get at least 40 people to play this month, there won't have to be any groupings with 2 "A" players.

Should anyone beat an "A" player in their group, they will get an extra point. So technically the max score in the tourney can now be 44 points. Good luck with that!

The final grouping, will be a "put up or shut up" round. That means our top four players will all be in the same group, our bottom 4 in the same group, and everything in between. Should make for some interesting jockeying for place in the overall leaderboard.

I believe all this is in the FAQ thread for the tourney, but that's a long read and why not reiterate it here? After a few of these, I'm sure this will all be second nature to you lot. So make sure to encourage playing to others in this forum, because the more the merrier. I know there were quite a few people that sat out last time that regret it now. It's never too late to join.

Plus, who doesn't want a groovy shiny new avatar to brag with?

There's going to be at least one top 10 player in every grouping unless we have over 40 entrants. The rest is left to the randomizer.

I'm in!
I'm kinda sidetracked by Borderlands 1 and 2 (sale on steam) so I haven't seen a pinball table (virtual or real) for quite some time; also had a short vacation two weeks back where I only played a real tired Cue Ball Wizard™ at a small arcade (and I had a mild hangover...). And for some reason my employer likes me so much he has given me more time to spend at work...

My excuses are now in place and I can turn in some really low scores :p

Registered! I'm not going to have a lot on time on Saturday evening, but hopefully I can squeeze in one game per table. Should be a lot faster without EBs on all of them.

It's doing the same for me, I'm sure I already signed up.

Just checked, you are signed up for sure.

We could have set it so that once you entered, it would show that you have done just that. Problem is, that requires you signing in with a Google account, and we didn't want to make that yet one more step for people to have to do. So if there is any question about someone's sign-up being registered or not, I am happy to look and verify.
