And just an update since I was looking...

We are up to 26 people signed in, and we had 28 that actually played last time. So encourage your friends to sign up! If you are on Steam, send a message with the link to the sign up to any of your friends that plays TPA. Game center on iOS, Googleplay, do the same. I would love to get at least 40 people playing this go around, but there's only so many messages I can send out, threads I can post in, tweets I can tweet, before I'm just speaking to the same people.

Maybe in any post you do today or tomorrow, you can include this...

We're up to about 27 and I hope people aren't signing up for this reason. This is all just for fun and to have a good time. There's nothing wrong with having a good laugh at yourself as most of us will.

To anyone that has looked at this thread, wondered if they wanted to join in the fun, but aren't quite sure...

Don't worry about having missed the last one. Try it out and see what you think. This isn't like FarSight's tourney, where there is only one winner. You are put into groups of 4 for each table, so you have a 1 in 4 chance at getting full points! Don't be intimidated by guys that can grind to super high scores given enough tries. With only 2 chances and no extra balls, the gap is significantly lessened. Points wise, the difference between making the 10th slot and the 18th was 2 points.

So jump on in, sign up before 10pm PDT tonight. And if you don't do that and are kicking yourself for not, you can still post scores like everybody else on Saturday, but there's no guarantee they'll be counted (though we'll do our best).

Of the 28 people that played last month, as of this morning only 3 have not signed up yet. Meanwhile a total of 34 have. I really want to hit 40 players that post scores (we had no shows last time). So seriously gang, look over your friends list and recruit some players in!

If we haven't hit that number 4 hours from now, I'm thinking I might need to call out members who have read this and TotW threads since they were obviously interested enough to read the thread. Mod powers, mwuahahahahaha.

Thanks for the invite, but I'll take a pass. Both because of the set of tables and because I need the Saturday for a personal project to finish for next week.

One reason is I never bought season three for High Speed. I could of course, but I'm happier without another ten time-sucking temptations on my desktop.

Two is Black Hole, which I just don't have any desire to play either with or without EBs. Here's how it goes. I expect I could make the max 999k x 5 bonus on all three balls, at least on one of two tries, and possibly so could some other players. Since there's a hard max on bonus possible, the competition degenerates into scoring regular points on the main playfield. Which means grinding the reentry - spinner shot over and over and forever and ever amen. Not a good use of a Saturday. (Whitewater next time will have the same problem with Whirlpool Challenge grinding.)

CFTBL I've also had my fill of for quite some time. Even without EBs, I can still go an hour between drains. And spend all that time grinding gimped 1x multiballs since you can't just drain to get a fresh ball for 4x.

(I'm not knocking on the tournament at all. Just being a whiner on my personal preferences. )

NGG is the only one I actually want to play. Would you take a signup for just one heat for just NGG?

You do not have to play all 4 tables. If you only want to play NGG, that is fine. That goes for anyone, as I don't want people excluding themselves just because they don't own every table. If this is the case, and I can easily take note, I can group accordingly. So erik, if you want to play NGG only, I'll only bracket you for such.

Absolutely! Obviously he won't have a forum name, and I'm guessing he's using your TPA user account? Sign in, and just make up a user name for him so I can put him in a grouping.
