Cheers to my fellow pin fanatics. Whether you are an expert or a NoOb... Chances are there's that certain shot that keeps draining. Your thoughts would be much appreciated on what you feel the most common drain shots are. Even if it's a well known drain shot, it might be useful to just see the worst of the worst in list form.

I'll get it started off with... And I'll edit this list with your entries...

1. ST:TNG - from left flipper to right ramp (a little bit too soon), into the left outlane

2. White Water - extra ball target

3. Black Knight - lower right flipper to center drop target bank, which rebounds directly toward the left outlane (although at least there's Magna-Save.)

4. Firepower - right flipper to 5 target. The rebound goes sling - sling - left outlane with shocking reliability.

I should point out that the worst drain shots are the ones that can't be nudged back into play. For example... Junkyard... Late shot to the sewer usually ends up drained out the right outlane. But this is possible to nudge back into play. Still MIGHT make the list, but we'll see...

CFTBL right flipper to KISS left lane. Brick it a millisecond late and you're dead into the left outlane.

Champion Pub left flipper running shot to the boxer, which rebounds directly toward the right outlane. (Mostly safe from a catch.)

Black Knight lower right flipper to center drop target bank, which rebounds directly toward the left outlane (although at least there's Magna-Save.)

Funhouse Rudy's jaw rebound into left outlane.

Firepower right flipper to 5 target. The rebound goes sling - sling - left outlane with shocking reliability.

Special category for deadly bumpers: Twilight Zone to left outlane, Champion Pub to right outlane, Whitewater to right outlane, Space Shuttle to right outlane, Pinbot to left outlane.

I'm not sure I agree with all of those. Especially pinbot (since most of those drains are random/nudgeable). But you did bring up some good ones. Even the white water right outlane is avoidable. TZ in the bumpers, that also doesn't apply. It needs to be a 100% drain shot from a flipper. Diner, bricked shot to the coffee cup would be a better example than yours. Though that's more 80% drain into the left outlane. On the other hand, I do agree with your BK, and CFTBL. CP can be nudged, Rudy's jaw? Naw.

I think almost ramp shot that has a Hurry-Up timer running becomes a drain shot.

T2 ramps are like this. And the right ramp in STTNG.

I played some T2 last night - finally nailed those Wizard goals  - and had no trouble with the ramps. You have plenty of time to nudge.

Any table you can have a late release off the tip and the ball goes straight into the bottom of the opposite slingshot post, and then rebounds SDTM; albeit at an angle.

The KISS shot is hard? I remember that being one of the first shots I could nail over and over both on the real table and TPA, but I guess it can drain. Usually it bounces back into play for me, whichever side I miss on. A failed shot at the Snackbar or the right side targets up into the Snackbar gets me much more often as it tends to head for the center drain at 100mph.

I definitely do get frustrated by the Lola targets on Taxi, that bank is angled very cruelly. I also find the green targets on TZ quite annoying, other than the one between the ramps which I have time to save they all seem to just go straight to a drain every time.

The late flip to slingshot to SDTM that netizen mentioned is surely the thing that makes me pull my hair out more than anything else in the game.

Can't you get that with the other flipper. I usually blame myself in this situation.

MM: Making face shots at the trolls will give you a good drain.

1. Never start Trolls without a lit Madness Multi-Ball. (I'm sure you can stack it with Castle Multi-Ball but shooting the lock is going to be tricky with a Troll popped up.)

2. If Not 1 then catch the ball and let the mode time-out.

Usually not. If you're going to blame yourself for that one, why not every bricked shot. You're the one who made the shot afterall.

Ignoring them trolls isn't that bad.

But here I have one where I'm still pretty clueless:
CV: Summoning the ringmaster - first 2 shots only. Just lost 2 balls due to this one. Nudging hasn't improved the statistics until now.(Android)
